"Habits reveal one's lineage...
A stranger appeared in a king's court, seeking employment. When asked about his qualifications, he said, "I am a politician" (in Arabic, a politician means someone who resolves issues through understanding and communication). The king had an abundance of politicians, so he made him in charge of the horse stables, which had recently become vacant.
A few days later, the king asked him about his most expensive and beloved horse. He replied, "It's not purebred." The king was surprised and asked the stable boy, who confirmed that the horse was indeed purebred but had been raised by a cow after its mother died. The king was impressed by the stranger's insight and rewarded him with grains, ghee, and fine meat.
Later, the king asked the stranger about his queen. He replied, "She has the manners of a queen, but she's not a princess." The king was shocked and asked his mother, who revealed that she had adopted a child from a commoner to establish ties with the king's family.
The king asked the stranger how he knew, and he replied, "Her behavior with servants is worse than that of ignorant people." The king was impressed again and rewarded him with more gifts and appointed him to his court.
When the king asked the stranger about himself, he revealed that the king was not of royal blood either. The king was furious but had promised to spare his life. He confirmed with his mother, who revealed that he was indeed the son of a shepherd and not their biological child.
The king asked the stranger how he knew, and he replied, "When you reward someone, you give them precious stones and jewels, but you give me sheep, goats, and food items, which is not the style of a king but of a shepherd's son."
Habits reveal one's lineage... Habits, manners, and behavior reveal one's bloodline and lineage."
