Mum review! 💕
The BEST thing I learnt when I had my first baby was the importance of your little ones sleep environment and this is all coming in very handy as a second time mum.
Our first did not sleep well at all and it’s something we really struggled with. I reached out to a sleep consultant for help and the first thing we looked at was the sleep environment.
So a few things that are super important to me, second time around to make sure we are creating the best environment we can for Sophia to get a good nights sleep are:
1. A soothing nighttime routine which relaxes them and overtime helps them know that sleep is coming so for us this is a warm bubbly bath, dim lights and a warm bottle of milk and some cuddles.
2. The room.. is it dark enough, is it the right temperature and white noise for those that need it. We LOVE our sleep machine. We use it at night and also in the day for day time naps downstairs too and also perfect for when we are out and about. It’s got different calming sounds to choose from and it also has a nightlight with different lights. We love the red light for sleep time. This is also great for in the night if you’re up feeding and need a little bit of light but don’t want to wake them up with the full lights on.
3. What are they wearing, are they comfortable and swaddling. I like to make sure Sophia is firstly dressed appropriate for the temperature of the room. We love the rompers which are made from bamboo which keep them cosy in the winter and cool in the summer and I think my HERO sleep time product has to be the Swaddle up. It is a GAME CHANGER. Both our little ones have never liked sleeping with their arms down so I love that the Swaddle Up keeps them in their natural sleep position. I took one to hospital with me when I first had Sophia and she has used them every single day since. It would be my number 1 recommended product for new babies.
