🎆 As we are approaching the end of 2020, we have updated the player market values for KPMG Football Benchmark's Player Valuation Tool, revealing no change in the top places. For the first time, however, Lionel Messi has dropped out of the 10 elite players by overall market value, mainly due to his relatively high age and his contract at Barcelona expiring in June 2021. Messi and Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold, who also dropped out, were replaced by Manchester United’s Rashford and Dortmund’s ‘Golden Boy’ Haaland.
🔝 The composition of the top footballers by market value is dominated by English Premier League clubs, who send more than half of the players. Domestic league title winners and current UEFA Champions League trophy holders Bayern Munich are not represented, while German side Borussia Dortmund send two players. The aggregate value of the Top 10 has slightly decreased by EUR 21m to EUR 1,296m since October.
