Carding some wool, linen, and silk to blend for a garment. Fine lightweight summer knit. Twice through the coarse carder and once through the fine. Did a test spin and think I will stick to this process.

I want to thank all of the people who have reached out during these difficult times. My phone is busy, my emails are full, and I am overwhelmed with all of the sharing remotely of poetry, jokes, and knitting patterns. It isn't hard for me to stay home, and hibernate, but it would be hard if I wasn't talking to everyone almost everyday. My own children and grandchildren are staying clear due to our advanced years
66/68 and some are still in travel quarantines.
Just thought I would give an update on what Marshall and I have been up to as we wind down the animal content on our farm. Our land isn't shaped to do any real tractor farming because we are all side hills and vaults. The land that is useable for farming is in Strawberries and hay. So this being the case we are thinking of providing a wild space between all this agriculture land, to attract bees and grow some native trees and wildflowers. I have some pinecone seeds from Uncle Don, and I am rooting all kinds of willow and dogwood for my baskets, and I want to start some spruce for root-baskets. Marshall wants to start some young birch and ash for barrel hoops, as he has pretty much got his cooper-shop
ready for work. So this is our next adventure. Still wanting to be outdoors as much as possible, but want the things we use closer to hand. We may have the joy of some wild animals, in a safe space, to replace the sheep. Keep well and keep posting on what you are doing. My plans, should we all survive this is to do much more visiting of people I want to spend time with. Other than weekly visits to Mom and Uncle Don, the only people we see are immediate family. Always saying we should visit here or there and never taking the time to do it. Now that we all have the time, we can't do it. Take care and stay safe.

We are pleased to announce the birth of a baby boy cria on October 10th, both him and Mom Pepper are doing well. Totally unexpected as I have been checking an older llama several times daily for over a month. So we will soon have two in the pasture.
