Hermès began in 1837 as a harness maker, and the Picotin never forgot it - the bucket shape copies a feed bag, and the name is old French for a day’s ration of oats. No lining, no logo, no pockets. Just leather and shape.

It is one of my favourite bags for exactly that reason.

The Mini Kelly test. This bag looked spotless - then one Cleansing Wipe over the leather, held next to a fresh one straight from the pack.

The difference is everything a bag collects quietly: hand oils, city air, everyday life. Gentle enough for the most delicate leather, and clearly doing its job.

If this came off a bag that looked clean, imagine one that doesn’t.

3 Controversial takes since using a Mini Kelly…

Why am I so bad at no.2? & No.3 kind of blows my mind a little 🙈

I think (for me) the Mini Kelly really was the holy grail and I still love the bag BUT I’ve never heard of anyone really speaking openly about the negatives and maybe that’s because 1. We all know how hard these bags are to buy and 2. The cost 🙈

I would really love to hear your thoughts.. do you own a Mini Kelly? Is one on your wish list? Or, do you just not get the hype?

Yayoi Kusama, 1929 - 2026.

The artist who saw dots from the age of ten spent eight decades turning them into art - and twice, into Louis Vuitton history. The 2012 collection with Marc Jacobs put her dots on the Speedy, Neverfull, Keepall and Papillon. In 2023, at 93, she returned with nearly 400 pieces and robot Kusamas painting store windows from Tokyo to Paris. It was one of fashion’s largest artist collaborations - and her last.

Those bags were special before. Now they are the final chapter of an extraordinary life.
