We’re barely even into winter and I’m booking steadily for this summer’s bridal season! 😍

Just as well my little workroom has undergone a thorough clearout and refurb… it’s always been my happy place but now it’s a little calmer, cosier and better organised - though it definitely won’t stay this tidy for long! 🤪

“Winton” by Kyah Studios: a sumptuous gown of duchess satin, featuring structured corset bodice with off-shoulder straps, asymmetrically draped slimline skirt with high split, and the most unusual train I’ve encountered 😃
Attached only through the centre back seam, the train fans out into a full circle and required some creative thinking when designing the bustle🤩

💕Glorious lace!!!
Breanna’s gown was shortened, the straps adjusted, bodice darts added, and a bustle created.

As usual with lace gowns, great care is required when removing lace appliqués to make the alterations, then ‘jigsawing’ them back together to preserve the design as much as possible - an aspect of alterations I just love!

I recently had the privilege of helping Gemma with her wedding ensemble. I’ve known Gemma and mum Debra for about 8 years, assisting with many and varied alterations during that time. It was particularly meaningful for me now to work on her special gowns.

Various alterations were made to her hens party dress, wedding dress (pics below) and her reception dress! Now here’s a girl making the most of these special occasions! 😃

One thing even a bridal seamstress can’t control — the weather! ☔️

But despite a few drops of rain, Katherine Schultz Photography captured every bit of the romance and joy from this beautiful day 💖

Abbey’s exquisite organza gown sprang to life through meticulous alterations, radiating ethereal beauty and timeless grace. ✨

I refined the b***d bodice for a flawless fit, shortened the skirts, and added elegant bustles to lift and showcase that beautiful flowing train. The hidden combination of French and American bustle styles keeps every layer secure while letting the gown move gracefully.

A final steam and press gave it that soft, airy finish — ready for its moment down the aisle!

🌸 Final wedding dress post for 2025! 🌸

Melissa's gown underwent extensive alterations, including deconstruction of the bodice, removal of lace appliqués and structural boning to enable size adjustments. A half corset was added to the back to secure the straps, featuring satin loops with boning behind and organza ribbon to match the delicate lace and tulle.

For the reception, bustles were created with 5 sets of colour-coded ribbons for the lining and 3 sets of buttons and loops for the lace/tulle layers.
