We honestly can’t force our kids to go to the toilet, even if we are observing them and know they’re busting. Sometimes the more pressure we put on them, the more they will try and resist.
If they say they don’t need to go we can try responding something like ‘I trust your body and it will tell you when you need to go, can you tune into your body and what it’s telling you?’ and slowly over time help them recognise their body signs like crossing their legs, grabbing their private parts etc as signals they need to go.
We can’t force our kids, but we can deeply trust them and showing them that trust will help with their confidence and trust in themselves too 💫
