Some insights from the Eastern Eats Festival last Saturday of people trying the ancient art of Pakistani Woodblock Printing. The festival was well organised and well attended. We made 45 tote bags and several people tried their hands on paper printing with the wooden blocks. A big thanks to all the attendees and City of Port Adelaide Enfield for helping me conserve and promote the diverse cultural heritage.
Woodblock printing is one of the oldest methods of printing, originating from China and flourishing in Indus Valley civilisation about 327 BCE. This is a brand new class at StudioRags_Official and has received a lot of interest.
You can book a class with me on Thursday 8th October at the link in the comments.
There's a Block printing workshop coming up on Tuesday 24th November at Mount Barker Community Centre. So keep an eye on the subsidised class to experience this
historical cultural heritage gem to create a table runner.
