After a nearly 3 year hiatus, WWR returns to its ancestral home of Ancient World for a night of jackin tunes. But there’s more… Our esteemed guest is a Chicago-grown, home-town hero…
MOTHAFUNK is a Chicago-born DJ who has called Naarm home for the past six years.
Her musical stylings are varied & wide, but remain inseparable from the influence of being brought up in Midwest USA’s abundant musical playground.
Taking inspiration from Chicago & Detroit’s wealth of creative output - from DISCO to HOUSE, JACK to JUKE & TECHNO to ELECTRO, plus sprinklings of Club Music & her parent’s record collection - she’s captured the hearts of dancers across the world.
Her musical focus is more than a DJ set; it’s a calling to showcase, preserve & analyze dance music culture & its origins in Black America. We couldn’t be happier to be hosting her talents on Kaurna land for the first time!
Joining us on this rendezvous is local musical royalty, NANTALE, who’s been humbly pushing some of the highest quality tunes heard in Kaurna land, all while keeping the lowest profile.
Lastly, BREAKING EVEN will be opening up the d-floor with 2hrs of Jackin Chicago House Trax.
