Our little (big) Lionel Messi and… the Grandpa from MY BOOK!

After seeing me dressing up in different outfits to film my Book Week costume reel the other day, I was asked, “Can I be the Grandpa from your story, Mum?” Words cannot describe the feeling 🥹 Also, a quick shout-out that they both chose books with green covers! (IYKYK - check one of my previous posts).

Such a wonderful celebration; it will always be one of my absolute favourite events! 💚

A bright dress (or a colourful shirt with a skirt), boots, and big statement earrings, and you’ve got a winning combo! The brighter and bolder, the better.

My students LOVE IT when I wear my brightest earrings or wild colors. I dress for them as much as I dress for me! 💃💖

What’s your superpower? 🦸🏼‍♀️

This costume included a mix of items from my wardrobe and some DIY for the cape and mask. As long as you have scissors and a sharpie, you’re all set! ✅

The trickiest part was working out how to make the cape without sewing (not my fave thing to do) 🤔 I was saved by a colleague who showed me an awesome hack where you literally just make small cuts along one end of your material and then feed the ribbon through!

This costume is probably the easiest/cheapest one because I guarantee you’d be able to find 90% of these items in your husband/dad/brother’s wardrobe! If not, the op-shop is also an amazing treasure trove of goodies (just ask Macklemore!😉)

For anyone who wants an EVEN easier option, Kmart sell “100 days of school” costume packs now too with all the bits and pieces you need. So many options!
