This is last years Balaclava Cup Fashions on the Field. This year they have introduced a “sustainable fashion” section inspired by this lovely woman in this photo and her gorgeous tea towel dress. Well done Balaclava Races . We at Dulcie’s were happy to provide a gift voucher prize for the winner and look forward to showing them around our sustainable store sometime soon.

Another 70’s floaty dreamy maxi heads out the door , destined for parties and dance floors and champagne…

This one, as Bruce McAvaney would say is “special”. A beautiful back detail which is so unique, it’s like the fabric just floats to the floor.

Plus it has a matching jacket ! I wonder where it came from, which beauty owned this and what magical things it’s seen? It went home with Corin who has promised us she’ll give it the love it so richly deserves…..

This is Sue who is Amanda’s knitting teacher (yes there is such a thing) and the no 1 fan and Ambassador for “Kniteratti” which takes place in the Adelaide Arcade | Grand. Elegant. Timeless. on the SECOND Saturday of every month. It’s funny how almost every month she finds something in a perfect fit to take home with her … funny bout that. It’s almost as if we planned it that way …🧐. This month is no exception finding this perfect floaty floral 70’s number. It looks absolutely beautiful on her and will be perfect for a big family wedding she has coming up.

Attention Brides ! We’ve got so many frocks that we can’t fit them in the shop . So Amelia here has come up with the idea of photographing all our wedding dresses then putting them in an album. So then uou can come in, look through the album then pick some dresses you’d like to see up close and we can deliver them to the store for your perusal . Cool huh ? What’s even cooler is the way Amelia inadvertently dressed today to match the curtain backdrop . Nice one. Some of these dresses also have the names and photos of the original brides so those details will be in the album too. We’ll ring the cathedral bells when it’s finished .

We’re all about 80’s jumpers here at Dulcie’s in honour of the last week of the Liz Newman exhibition at Fabrik Arts and Heritage . Special “toilet selfie” for you on the left where I’m wearing a Liz Newman design “Walkabout Wombat” which was the only pattern published publicly back in 1988 in the Aust Women’s Weekly. The other photo is friend, customer and “knitterati” attendee Ally wearing a jumper her mum made in the 80’s and me wearing another hand knit by another Australian knitwear designer Liz Gemmell. The exhibition was such fun to put together and I’m really really proud of how well it’s gone and how everybody is loving it. Well done to the SA Handknitters Guild too. What a great job they’ve done . Head to Lobethal this week till exhibition closes on Sunday. 10am - 4pm and thanks to those of you who have already seen it . It’s FREE (and it’s fab )
