After spending a bunch of hours on the weekend working on my stitch, I think I have worked out my tension!! Here’s to learning more about my machine and starting a new project… 💜

Why, hello there little (big) baby! 🙏🏽🥰

Welcome to your new home, Juki DU-1181n. 🥳

I nearly cried when it was delivered and unpacked. I thought of my mother, who would have been so excited for me. I remember when I was about 16 and starting to make my own clothes and I asked Mum if I could try her industrial Singer machine.

Mum gave me a little scrap of fabric and woahh!!! I honestly felt like a 10 year old trying to drive a Ferrari!! It was crazy fast and very loud and I felt very intimidated! 😅

This machine is supposed to be more quiet - apparently it makes no noise when it’s in idle.

I can’t wait to try it and make more handbags with it!

I also need to say a big thank you to a special friend who helped me to purchase it. Thank you! 🙏🏽

So the thing that arrived yesterday was a Kam Press!! 😍😍😍 It means that I won’t have to struggle anymore with sewing the ends of my bag handles!! Amazing!!

My favourite colour is pink! It’s my first time trying quilting…. Hand drawn! ☺️ And the cute lining is from my beautiful mother’s quilting fabric stash. My mum was my favourite person ever. She still is. But she left this Earth in 2017 due to illness. 😢

My mum taught me to sew and taught me unconditional love. 💕 I miss her and I dedicate this bag to her. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Throwback to 8 months ago (October 2021) when I made my second ever handbag for a friend’s birthday!! 🐭❤️👛 I thought it was super cute but it really helped me to see where and how I can improve on my bagmaking! I learnt to use smaller stitches for the construction of the bag, as well as using the SAME colour thread for construction! 🙄😂🙏🏽

It’s so great to learn! 🥰🥰🥰
