The NSW State Library’s newly refurbished Macquarie Street Building is now open, providing readers and visitors with even more inviting places to study, gather, and explore. The State Library is a deeply valued public institution, committed to offering an uplifting, welcoming, and accessible environment for all. It continues to grow as a living library, delivering essential services and inspiring spaces for every visitor.

The refurbishment was completed in collaboration with award-winning architect Andrew Andersons AO, whose design emphasises energy efficiency and the use of natural materials like fabric.
•
From muted tones to vibrant colours, our high-performance fabrics are featured on ’s minimalist forms to create a calm, alongside bespoke furniture, upholstered to align with the elegant look that makes for a classic, enduring interior.

Fabric Case Study: Melbourne Convention Centre

The is recognised as a world leader in sustainable design, which made it a fitting project for Svenska KJ to be involved in.
•
The iconic infrastructure project adjoining the existing exhibition centers and Docklands precinct, created an active and vital p***c waterfront. At the hub is a large, flexible multi-function hall with seating for 5,000. The space can be subdivided into different-sized rooms depending on the size or type of function.
•
In addition, a series of foyers, meeting rooms and a banquet hall were designed to reflect different aspects of Melbourne: civic spaces were inspired by the maritime precinct, hospitality spaces relate to Melbourne’s sport and culture, and functional spaces are neutral to reflect the Central Business District.

Situated in Vaucluse, this expansive family residence, originally designed about 40 years ago, needed rejuvenating to transform the dwelling into a lasting and meaningful space for the owners.

From a selection of curated pieces, the personal expression of the owners is evident throughout the house, enhancing each space with a handmade touch - from the artisanal craftsmanship of the upholsterer to the skillful integration of colour, the use of fabric provides a subtle detailing to craft a timeless and classic residence.
