Selected for fertility, structural integrity and genetic merit, our bulls are bred to produce quality market cattle and superior herd females to drive long term productivity. Winter Genetics was established as Winter Herefords in 1992 at Kaimanna, in the Arcadia Valley, by Carl and Corinne Winter to produce high quality bulls for their family operations commercial herd. The Stud herd was moved to
Westbank, Athol in 2009 and continued to produce bulls for family operations. Fleur Winter and Steven Sloss, assumed responsibility for the stud in 2023 and Winter Genetics now offers bulls for sale. Winter Genetics aim has always been to produce high quality Hereford bulls to improve both turn off cattle and replacement cattle for commercial operations. To achieve this,very high selection pressure via EBV’s , structural traits and docility has been applied to the stud cow herd since its inception in the 1990s. We are confident that our Winter Genetics stud herd can deliver Beef Builders - bulls whose weight and carcase characteristics combine with fertility traits to deliver both improved turn-off cattle and breeding heifers for your herd.
