I often get asked how the quilt waitlist works, so here is a little explanation for anyone thinking about having a memory quilt made. 💜

Because every quilt is handmade from start to finish, I can only work on a limited number of quilts at a time. To keep everything organised and make sure each quilt receives the time and care it deserves, I run my orders through a waitlist system.

How the waitlist works:

1. Join the waitlist through the shop link.
2. A $100 deposit secures your place in the queue.
3. You are welcome to send your clothing items to me before your place comes up if that is easier for you. I will safely store them until your quilt moves into the creation stage.
4. When your turn is approaching, I will contact you to confirm everything and begin the process.

Every quilt then goes through my full process:
Preparation, pinning, sewing, backing, binding, airing & photos, and finally delivery to its new home.

The waitlist allows me to give each quilt the attention it deserves while also making sure families know their place in line.

Zac’s quilt is officially finished — and it’s the **largest quilt I’ve made yet!** 💜

Working on a quilt of this size really shows just how many memories can be held in one place. Every piece of clothing tells part of the story, and seeing them all come together into one finished quilt is always something special. As I was preparing, pinning and sewing this one together, I could already picture how incredible it was going to look once it was complete.

Creating these quilts is more than just sewing — it’s preserving moments that families never want to forget. Zac’s quilt holds so many memories and I feel incredibly honoured to have been trusted to turn them into something that can be used, loved and kept forever. 💜

For those who are curious about how the process works, this is how your memory quilt comes together:

1. **Preparation** – Each item of clothing is carefully selected and prepared for cutting.
2. **Pinning** – The layout is designed and pinned into place so the quilt flows beautifully.
3. **Sewing** – Each square is sewn together to create the quilt top.
4. **Backing** – The quilt is layered with batting and backing fabric.
5. **Binding** – The edges are finished and hand-stitched to complete the quilt.
6. **Airing & Photos** – The finished quilt is aired, checked over and photographed.
7. **Delivery** – Your quilt is carefully packaged and sent home to you.

Looking at the clothing that arrives, I can often already see the finished quilt in my mind before the first cut is even made. Zac’s quilt came together beautifully and I can’t wait for it to reach its new home. 💜

A quick update from Little Keepsake Lane 💜

From today, all memory quilts will now be $600, regardless of size.

When I first started creating memory quilts I purposely kept my prices very low so more families could have a special keepsake made from their loved one’s clothing. As Little Keepsake Lane has grown, the cost of fabrics, batting and materials has increased, and each quilt also represents many hours of careful preparation, sewing and hand finishing.

This small price adjustment simply allows me to continue creating these quilts with the same quality, care and attention that every family deserves. 💜

All current orders will absolutely be honoured at the previous price, so if you already have a quilt booked in, nothing changes for you.

For those wondering how the process works, every quilt goes through these steps:

4 x cloth nappy size
This should keep them going for a while and look much prettier coming out of the nappy bag!

The next bundle of baby clothes has arrived all the way from Cairns ✨
This one will be a squares-style memory quilt for little Bobby.

His mum and dad are two of the most amazing people we met while on holidays in Port Douglas — and the very first faces we looked for when we returned 12 months later.
