Cashmere Connections Pty Ltd

Cashmere Connections Pty Ltd Textile processor with the capability to de-hair Cashmere and Alpaca and to process combed top . The minimum lot size for this service is 100 kilograms.

Cashmere Connections is a small family operated Textile processing business. We are fibre producers of many years experience who became involved in the Textile industry in 2002. We employ skilled textile workers, each of which has many decades of industry experience. The textile workers have learnt a little bit about fibre production and the properties of raw fibre from us & they have taught us a

little about textile processing. Between us, we find we are able to successfully help fibre producers who are trying to navigate their way through the often confusing paths to value added product. Services Offered By Cashmere Connections P/L
Located in Bacchus Marsh, the factory at Cashmere Connections Pty Ltd, houses two dehairing machines as well an extensive range of top making equipment. Using this equipment, our skilled staff are able to prepare a range of natural fibres for worsted, semi worsted & woollen spinning. We have successfully created a niche for ourselves in the production of premium quality fibre products to service the needs of our Australian and European textile manufacturing clients. Buying Fibre directly from Producers

Cashmere Connections Pty.Ltd, purchases Alpaca Cashmere fibre directly from producers. We have established markets for all types of semi processed Alpaca fibre, giving value to all of the fleece shorn from an Alpaca. Cashmere and Alpaca producers should consult our website for price lists, transport depots available and all other details relevant to our fibre buying operation. Web: www.fibre.cx

Contract Dehairing Service

Cashmere Connections offer contract dehairing services for both cashmere & alpaca. The fibre presented for dehairing must be scoured prior to being presented for dehairing. Contract Combing and Carding Services

Cashmere Connections offer contract combing and carding services for all natural animals fibres. We are happy to create blends in top form eg. cashmere / silk, ultra fine wool / cashmere. A minimum lot size of 75 kilograms is required. The fibre must be scoured prior to processing. We can arrange scouring if necessary. Group Top making jobs

We also offer a service for groups of people who wish to combine their fleeces to attain the minimum lot size for scouring at the small lot and coloured fibre scour(Velieries Pty Ltd) which is 100kg. We will interlot and bale up the fleeces (of all sorts to be mixed together for top making) brought to us in individual bags that the group of fibre craft enthusiasts has collected. The mixed and baled fleeces are scoured and returned to us to be processed into combed top. The group divvy the top up between themselves according to whatever agreement they have reached as a collective. We have done this on a couple of occasions now and the resulting tops have been surprisingly good. Contract Blending Service

Our skilled staff, who are long time workers in the textile industry and thus have a wealth of experience, are able to work with customers to create special customised blends. If required Cashmere Connections can supply or source, all or some, of the fibre used to create the blend. Talk to us about your needs; we will do our best to cater for them. As Ian our Factory Manager says; “Impossibilities straight away, but miracles may take a little longer!”

Thanks to all involved in arriving at this sustainable and long-term solution to the challenging problem which confronted Australia’s last 2 remaining wool scours. This solution allows the many businesses, both big and small, which rely upon the ability to have Australian wool scoured or carbonised onshore to continue to have access to this service. Those businesses which further process the wool onshore can continue to provide services and product to the many customers who prefer Australian grown and Australian made wool products. We all thank you.

Wool scours have been operating in Victoria since the 1860's but the last one is about to close
