Many (nut not too many haha) years later I had my first born daughter Wendy, the absolute apple of my eye. Before too long I had the most burning desire to make things with my own two hands for my child. My mind was flooded with pictures of the most snuggly blankets and twirly skirts that could not be satisfied by anything I found in a store, so I did it...I bought a sewing machine and had absolut
ely NO IDEA how to use it. Where to begin, I open the pattern for an adorable pair of little overalls...I had never been so confused in my life! This "easy" pattern took me weeks to finish and when I did it was the most amazing feeling to see my little toddler standing there in baby blue overalls I had made myself. Sure it took weeks on end and the legs weren't quite right but I did it...and I needed to make more...
Over the next two years I made her those twirly skirts, summer hats, cuddly blankets and before too long the sewing machine became an extension of me. I started making birthday gifts for my little girls friends and any time a baby would be born to a friend, family member...or people I barely knew, I would race to the fabric store and get to work. People started asking me to make things for their children and paying me for custom orders. I couldn't believe it, could it be possible something I love so much could be an amazing business opportunity? And here we are, this is what I love and the best part is I still get to be a stay at home mum with Wendy(4) and her 7 month old baby sister Beth
Thankyou for supporting my handmade Australian business and giving me the opportunity to stay home with my babies doing what I love xx
