The Korha journey began when I was a boy, watching my parents giving back to the community. Whether through work, family, friends, community projects, charities, or sports teams, I love to get involved; I love making someone’s day better and easier. After the birth of my son, I
realised that applying project management to home life made sense and that new parents need systems and backups too! Meeting your baby for the first time is magical, but no matter how prepared you think you are; nothing really prepares you for the emotional rollercoaster of the weeks to follow. It’s such a unique journey for all, and some of us struggle. I wanted to create a product that made life easier for new parents, and I wanted to take the pressure out of those first few weeks, so that together as a family, they could be present for all the moments that count. Not rushing back and forth to the store or spending hours on the internet wondering which product is the right one? Korha is derived from the New Zealand Maori word translated to mean “gift”. In the Maori culture, when a baby is born, family & friends give a gift from the heart to the parents. A Korha newborn starter kit is designed to contain the essentials new parents need in those first few months after baby arrives.
