The final steps, and then…

The Amelie Blouse in Vintage Berries. She turned out exactly as I imagined, and then some.

The process reel is here, and she came together beautifully.

Stripe matching. Impeccable pattern pieces. Hand sewn finishing touches that you might not notice, but you’d absolutely feel.

This is what it looks like when a fabric is made for a pattern and a pattern is made for a fabric.

I managed to squeeze in finishing this right at the end of May, and worth every stitch.

It’s finally finished…the Kanmani Top in Heirloom Grid linen with hand embroidered collar detail 🪡

This has been a labour of love to embroider the collar, and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I think it took me around 6 hours to embroider 99cm of tiny scallops!

The top itself was quite and easy sew, though I did complicate it with French seams which weren’t entirely necessary.
I love the side pleats of this top, and I made a size 10, however I would size down to the finished garment measurements (I made it to be a loose fit but should have followed the sizing guide better 🫣).
I also altered the armhole to be lower since I don’t like a high armhole in summer tops, this keeps it breezy for this hot days. Now to wait for summer to roll around again 🌞

We’ve now sold out of this colour way in this fabric, but we still have 3 more fun colours to choose from. The shimmer in this one is so special I can’t wait to see more around 🤗

There’s a small hand embroidered detail on this collar that means more to me than I expected it to.

I learnt this stitch a long time ago from someone I only got to know briefly, but whose patience and precision I think about every time I pick up a needle.
My grandmother was on other side of the world, and I only met her twice. I cherish the little time I spent with her, in fact these embroidery threads are from her stash that she gave to me when I was 12 years old 🥹

Her linens (swipe to see some of them ❤️) are handmade, every stitch so perfect you can hardly tell which is the right side. She was a master at this craft, and I was lucky enough to learn a tiny piece of it from her. I hope to one day create such beauty as her pieces.

This one was high stakes. Life or death.
I had intense supervision while I stitched this toy back together.

He sat there watching the entire time like this was a very serious operation and the patient simply could not wait any longer.

My Berry Shimmer top is almost finished. I decided to understitch the collar so the seam was completely enclosed.
Yes this takes more time, but it’s worth it right? 💜
