Every.single.time ✌🏻

Young children play messy and grow fast, so inexpensive + poor quality clothes seems like the solution... but I haven't personally found that to be true 🤷🏼‍♀️ Ethical & environmental perspectives aside, I find that having fewer (high quality) clothing items in practical styles just works better for my son.

Case in point, he only has ONE pair of shoes () 🌴 Not only does this reduce the toddler related clutter in our home 🏡💣 but having the one quality pair means he's comfortable and they always look good. Well made items just hold up better to the rigors of toddler life! Granted, we do live in a climate where sandals can be worn all year round but... you get the gist 🌞

In all seriousness though, children learn best through immersive, active play and I try to make clothes that respect that 🌿

There are SO many cute styles out there for toddlers, but for everyday I prefer clothes that are practical, comfy and hard-wearing. Beautiful too, of course 🧡

As you may have guessed, I'm not one for super girly ruffles and bright pink 😬

In fact, I generally prefer a more minimalist / unisex approach to children's clothing... but this pale pink hue hits the spot for me👌🏻especially when paired with natural linen 🌾

Our 3/4 Linen Pants in Mustard 💛 This is my absolute favourite cut and wears well all year round 🌿🍂❄️

Fun fact, the 3/4 length is also the first piece I made for my son and sparked my love for sewing. I couldn't find a relaxed linen pant that wasn't also super short, leaving my son's legs baking in the sun when we went out with the pram ☀️ The relaxed fit on these means that the length doesn't feel hot but offers sun protection... they also work great in the cooler months 👌🏻

Each and every piece 💛 Hand crafted using 100% sustainable linen, right here in Australia... in my sun room / sewing studio 🌿🌞 I'll be posting more pictures of my work space soon, as I think it's nice to see where and how things are made 🧵

Also, I've been a bit MIA from social media lately but still very busy sewing... along with back yard renovating 😬 and managing a totally out-of-routine toddler! I hope you are all doing well 🌻

I designed the Long Sleeve Linen vest as a layering piece for the in-between and cooler seasons ❄️ of course, we live in a sub tropical climate so this is not for serious weather 🌴

Pair with a simple tank or t shirt layered underneath or a wooly knit for the colder days👌🏻

At this stage, all items are handmade to order✨ so all colours and sizes are available. From placing an order you can expect your piece to be made and arrive within 1 - 2 weeks 📦

Another all time fav 💛 ft. The Classic Linen Short in Mustard 🌻 Loving this colour so much... I swear the yellow heart emoji is getting a workout on this account! 😅

More information on this design (and the 3/4 Linen Pant which is simply longer in the leg) 👉🏻 I keep the design simple with a relaxed fit that's comfortable for active toddlers... added bonus is that you'll likely get more than one season of wear + they fit that fluffy cloth nappy bum 🌿 The waist is elasticated with no fancy zips, buttons or etc, perfect for toddlers that are gaining independence. Side note: we practice Montessori principles at home with our toddler, and for this reason you won't see me making any rompers or jumpsuits that a child can't take on or off on their own. Bummer because they're super cute... but again the focus is practicality and empowerment of the child 💁🏼‍♀️

The fabric used is a lovely 100% pure linen, in a heavy weave. The feel is still light and breatheable but more durable than a mid or light weight linen. As I've mentioned before, this fabric just gets softer and more beautiful with wash + wear 🌼

Little linen pants in all the beautiful earthy tones 🧡❤️💛🤍 Each is so lovely in its own way... I can hardly pick a favourite!

What I also love about this fabric is the quality, and how luxurious and soft it becomes after a few washes 💫 It really is nice when a garment becomes better with wear rather than worn out and tatty 😬

A bit more about my fabric... I use a sustainably sourced, heavy weave pure linen (read: super strong but lightweight) 🌾 Yes I could use a linen blend or a lighter weave but I don't believe in cutting corners when it comes to fabric 🙅🏼‍♀️ I make each piece by hand to LAST + be enjoyed for as long as possible 🌿
