Bookmarks 🔖 made from pre-loved kimono fabrics!

Our latest addition to the kimono scrap collection 📕

This collection is about reducing the fabric waste by making small items - much smaller than scrunchies! So far, we have introduced trinket trays, lipstick/chapstick holder keychains, and wristlets/lanyards.
I’d love to keep making more clothing items but the truth is that my scrap mountain (yes it’s that big😅) only keeps getting bigger, so I’m always looking for more fun ways to use the small scrap fabrics!

This one’s special - I made a bag for mum’s birthday 💐💖

I remember her mentioning that she wanted a bigger everyday work bag which she can carry her bento (Japanese lunch box) in. My mum lives in Japan and we didn’t get to celebrate her birthday in person this year, so I decided to make her a cute bag as a surprise gift! She had already received it so now I can share the photos here🤭

I made it padded so it feels soft and is versatile, an adjustable/removable long strap to use as crossbody, and lots of big pockets so she can fit everything in!

As you can probably tell, this is made from a pre-loved kimono and I’m in love with the colours and the patterns on this one! I also really like the style of this bag so I may have to make one for myself 😆💕

Thank you for coming to visit Milton Markets last night!🌃💫 The weather was on our side and I had cozy evening under the fairy lights😌✨
