B***s, glorious b***s! They come in all shapes and sizes and whether you love yours or not, breast health is important. And today marks the start of so ladies… its time to check your tatas.
Did you know that if detected early enough, the survival rate for breast cancer is pretty high? But in order to detect any unusual lumps and bumps, you need to be performing monthly breast self-exams, and scheduling regular clinical breast exams and mammograms.
Not too sure what a self-exam looks and feels like? No worries, we got you.
The best places to check your b***s according to the is in the shower, in front of a mirror, or lying down.
🍈 If you’re in the shower, take the pads of your three middle fingers and press with light, medium and firm pressure across the entire breast. What you’re looking for is a lump, thickening, harder skin, or other changes.
🍈In front of the mirror, take a look for dimpling, puckering, or changes, particularly on one side of the breast. Raise your arms in the air, put them on your hips, and by your side.
🍈When lying down, feel breasts one at a time keeping the fingers flat and using them to firmly massage in circular motions around each breast, up to the collarbone, down to the top of your abdomen, and into your armpit and cleavage. You’ll need to press more firmly to reach deeper tissue in the centre. Also check your ni***es for any discharge.
And remember, the more you check, the more likely you are to detect changes.
