The Perfect Noggin

The Perfect Noggin Transforming babies' head shapes 👶 Perfect Noggin: the only anatomically correct, adjustable head shaping mattress!

Most parents are told, “Don’t worry, it will round out naturally.”

But that is not what the evidence shows.

Craniofacial surgeon, Dr. Gary Rogers, explains that for many babies, plagiocephaly does not just disappear on its own.

We almost made the mistake of waiting when our daughter’s head shape looked like this.

Thankfully, we found the Perfect Noggin. It is a contoured sleep surface with a recessed cup that gently supports your baby’s head while they sleep.

We used it with our own daughter, and in just 3 months her head shape improved significantly.

If you want to find out whether the Perfect Noggin is right for your baby, comment ROUND below.

6 weeks. That was the time it took this parent to see a diifference!

This parent told us:

“My health visitor came round today, she comes once a month since I begged for help with his head, she’s been coming and measuring the circumference and telling me ‘she’s seen worse’ .. until the last few visits where it’s pretty much been resolved .. she seemed to think it was because I did more tummy time until I told her the Perfect Noggin fixed it!! So grateful for this product, we got our sleep back and I rarely think about his head shape compared to how it was before.”

Imagine going from begging for help to barely thinking about your baby’s head shape anymore.

That is the kind of relief parents are looking for.

If head shape worries are taking up too much space in your mind right now, this post is your reminder to not delay any further and start your Perfect Noggin journey today.

No one really tells parents how small the window is.

By around 6 months, your baby’s head shape becomes much less responsive to change. That is why early action matters so much.

The Perfect Noggin was designed to provide gentle head shape support during those first critical months, when simple, proactive steps can make the biggest difference.

For parents who are noticing a flat spot, a side preference, or just want peace of mind, starting early matters.

Every baby deserves a perfect noggin.

Parents ask us this all the time:

“If my baby has torticollis and always turns her head one way while sleeping, does that defeat the purpose of the Perfect Noggin?”

The answer is no.

The Perfect Noggin was designed to help reduce pressure on the flat area regardless of how your baby turns their head while sleeping. So even if your little one has a preferred side, the mattress is still doing its job.

That said, torticollis (tight neck muscles) should still be addressed properly with a paediatric physiotherapist, because this is what often contributes to head flattening.

You do not need to sit there stressing over head position all night. Let your baby sleep how they prefer and know the Perfect Noggin is still working.

Many parents are told that baby flat spots happen because babies have soft heads.

That is not actually the reason.

Flat head syndrome happens when rapid head growth meets constant pressure on the same spot of the head during sleep or rest.

Since the 'Back to Sleep' campaign began in the 1990s to reduce SIDS, babies now spend more time sleeping on their backs. This has saved many lives, but it has also increased the number of babies developing head flattening (about 40%).

When the same area of the head rests against a mattress for long periods, pressure builds on that spot. As the skull grows, it gradually grows away from the pressure, which can lead to flattening.

The good news is that early action can make a big difference.

If you notice flattening:

✅️ Address torticollis (if present)
If your baby has a side preference or neck tilt, torticollis (tight neck) may be the cause. A paediatric physiotherapist can help restore neck mobility.

✅️ Use Perfect Noggin
If your baby is under 6 months, use Perfect Noggin during sleep to help redistribute pressure evenly across their head.

Today we’re heading into hospital to welcome our baby boy into the world, which is a very special and exciting moment for our family! 😍

Because of this, responses to emails, comments and DMs may be a little slower this week, and order dispatch may also be slightly delayed.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Thank you.

We are so excited to introduce our new Physio Partner!

🌟 Ali Day from Little Ones Physiotherapy 🌟

If you have noticed flattening or changes in your baby’s head shape, a proper assessment matters. Sometimes underlying factors such as torticollis or movement restrictions can contribute to ongoing pressure on the head.

That is where Ali comes in.

With years of experience as a paediatric physiotherapist, Ali can assess your baby, treat any underlying issues and guide families toward the root cause, not just the symptom.

When physiotherapy is combined with Perfect Noggin, outcomes can be stronger and longer lasting during those early months of rapid head growth.

Ali provides mobile physiotherapy services across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, offering appointments in homes, playgrounds, daycare centres and schools.

Ali is also the author of The Baby Playbook, a beautiful coffee table book for parents filled with developmentally appropriate play ideas from the newborn stage through to walking and beyond. You can learn more or purchase the book via the Resources section at: www.littleonesphysiotherapy.com.au

Welcome to the Perfect Noggin family, Ali! 💙

Parents often ask us this question:

Should we try the Perfect Noggin for head shaping or should we go straight into helmet therapy?

The answer usually depends on 3 main factors:

✔️ Your baby’s age
✔️ Whether your baby is rolling from back to belly
✔️ The severity of the head flattening

Perfect Noggin was designed to support babies under 6 months (who are not yet rolling back to belly), particularly when flattening is mild to moderate.

Helmet therapy is a medical treatment typically recommended for babies over 5 months with more severe head flattening and when Perfect Noggin is no longer suitable.

Every baby is different, which is why we created this post to help parents better understand their options.

If you are still unsure, send us a DM and we would be happy to guide you further.

Save this post for later in case you need it, and feel free to share it with another parent who may find it helpful. 👶

Head shaping pillows are a serious SIDS risk that many parents unknowingly use to fix flat spots.

Why? Head shaping pillows can restrict a baby’s airway and increase the risk of suffocation.

You may be wondering how the Perfect Noggin is safer.

Lets clear this up first: The Perfect Noggin is NOT a pillow or a repositioning device.

It’s a thoughtfully engineered alternative to traditional flat surfaces, created to support your baby’s head shape during those crucial early months of life.

Secondly, the Perfect Noggin has been clinically tested in the NICU on some of the most fragile, premature infants.

If you’ve had a preemie, you know how delicate they are. They spend weeks lying in one position, making them highly prone to head flattening.

In one clinical setting:

✔️ 25 weeks average gestational age
✔️ Average weight: 0.675 kg — less than a bag of kidney beans
✔️ Used for 21 hours a day
✔️ Continued for 8–10 weeks

The results were significant.

At the start, only 10% had a normal cranial index. By the end, 50% did and 100% maintained head symmetry.

Most importantly, there were no reported safety concerns. Not one.

That’s why the Perfect Noggin exists today.

It was designed as a safer alternative for head shaping.

And right now, Perfect Noggin Australia offers free shipping Australia-wide.

If you’re concerned about flat spots but don’t want to compromise on safe sleep, visit www.theperfectnoggin.com.au

Your baby’s safety always comes first.
