I finished this baby blanket a few months back and gifted it last week to a gorgeous little newborn boy so I can share pics now.
I just had a hunch it was a boy although I did have another blanket in pastels in the works just in case.
Pattern is Doo-dad by HOS and was a dream to make.
Custom orders are welcome if you’re looking for something similar. Just shoot me a message.

A small snap shot of some of the items I’ve been working on this year and remembered to get pics of.
Just a reminder if you’re in need of alterations leading into the warmer months please book well in advance as I have very limited spaces left.

I was horrified when asked if I could fix this paid repair recently, horrified that a seamstress/business would think it was an acceptable repair let alone ask for payment for it.
I’m presuming they lacked knowledge of working with stretch fabrics and flat lock seams.
It took me forever to remove all the stitching as they were tiny, too tight, bunched up and all the broken original stitches were hidden in that roll making a hard uncomfortable seam.
I always like to start with a blank canvas when doing repairs or alterations so all stitches are removed and ends neatened off before I do anything.
The fabric has been over stretched and cut so I have stabilised and double stitched the seam as best I could with the damage done prior whilst maintaining its stretch capability. The stitching lines from the previous repair may settle with washing slightly but as they’ve used the wrong needle it’s damaged the fibres so some marking will remain. Lucky it’s an inner leg seam so won’t be as noticeable and they should be much more comfortable to wear.

These 2 dresses were an absolute dream to work on. Quality fabrics and beautifully made, especially the linen dress. Both required hem reductions and one just needed a bit of tweaking in the bodice to sit nicely. Hope you enjoyed your special occasion.

Not often I come across a dress so carelessly made. Just goes to show cost has nothing to do with the quality of garments if care is not used in the construction process. This was one of 3 bridesmaids dresses ordered and the only one with issues. All made in production lines I’m guessing by the look of the different stitchings. Not only was this dress uneven along the hemlines it also had a piece sewn into the bodice that was a size bigger that needed to be reduced and realigned. The skirt had been attached crooked and instead of unpicking they’ve just realigned the waist and stitched it down hence throwing out the hem, only revealed once the stitching had been opened up. What I thought was going to be a simple hem reduction turned into a bodice reconstruction, realignment of waistline and a time consuming hem reduction.
Thankfully now all finished, pressed, bagged up and delivered for the big day.

I’m not sure if it’s just me but would you be happy with this repair 🤦‍♀️
Being busy with fittings and alterations for weddings and holidays I dropped my daughter’s school blazer in for cleaning and was asked if I wanted the shabby cuffs fixed. “Yeah why not!’ I said.. as daughter refuses to wear the new blazer I got her.
2 weeks later and I picked this up. I was bitterly disappointed as I would never let a garment leave here with an exposed overlocked edge like this. It looks unfinished and unprofessional.
I’ll turn these cuffs under and blind stitch them down evenly to finish them off properly so people don’t associate this work as mine.😆
Lesson learnt- not every business sets standards at the same level so do your own repairs 🤦‍♀️😂

Weekends are my days off and if we aren’t busy doing family stuff I’ll jump in the garden or on my machines for some fun me time.
These are a snippet of some of the items I finished off over the last few weekends and a very confused daffodil that popped out in my garden over the weekend.
Kindness always xx

I am possibly the most hopeless at updating my page 😂 and taking pics of my works 🤦‍♀️
These are just a tiny sample of the customs I’ve done over the last however many months it’s been and remembered to get a pic of. A mixture of digitising/embroidery, a custom make and a repair 😊even managed a scrunchie out of the repair remnants as a complimentary gift.

I have at this stage limited available bookings for alterations and customs leading into the crazy season, these will be snapped up quick so I recommend getting in early if you’re in need.

It’s been crazy busy here since we came out of lockdown and I have no idea where that time has gone but it’s flown. As seems to be my norm now I forget to grab pics of any items or garments I’m working on but I did manage to get this one but somehow forgot to get a pic of the other dress I was working on with it. Both similar but different styles but stunning for a wedding in Queensland. This one had 10cm taken off each side and the bodice reshaped to accommodate the resizing and the waistline tapered to a personal fit and a slight hem reduction. I loved the deep color of this dress, more a burgundy red than pics showed.
This season has seen a wide range of alterations with lockdowns and postal delays hampering things . I’ve done a lot more of corset backs and size reductions this year than any other years as online shopping has become the new norm and the size difference between stores vary so much.
