-Paddle Your Own Canoe

Voyager upon life’s sea,
To yourself be true,
And whatever your lot may be,
Paddle your own canoe.
Never, though the winds may rave,
Falter or look back;
But upon the darkest wave
Leave a shining track.
Paddle your own canoe.

Nobly dare the wildest storm,
Stem the hardest gale,
Brave of heart and strong of arm
You will never fail.
When the world is cold and dark,
Keep your aim in view;
And toward the beacon work,
Paddle your own canoe. ...
.Would you crush the giant wrong,
In the world’s free fight?
With a spirit brave and strong,
Battle for the right.
And to break the chains that bind
The many to the few
To enfranchise slavish mind,-
Paddle your own canoe.

Nothing great is lightly won,
Nothing won is lost,
Every good deed, nobly done,
Will repay the cost.
Leave to Heaven, in humble trust,
All you will to do:
But if succeed, you must
Paddle your own canoe.

I’m stepping back into the ā€œinsta-posting groove.ā€
TBH- I committed my life to the fashion industry years ago, but somehow ā€œentertainer/performerā€ was recently added to the skill set. And I don’t like dancing and selling, and I loathe ā€œmarketing strategiesā€ i dont want to trick anybody into buying a product with no soul with a 200% mark up!
I have always designed and created beautiful clothing that people actually want to own. I remember a Tom Ford interview I saw decades ago; he said: ā€œMarketing? Who needs marketing. Design and make clothes that people want to wear. If you have a good product, you don’t need marketing.ā€
Fast forward to 2026 and it’s a saturated market of marketing, marketing, marketing—single-use plastic clothes ā€œdrop-shippedā€ to your door. And boom... everyone looks the same! (Like a beige refrigerator with health issues) šŸ˜
Time for a reintroduction. I created in a revolt against fast fashion. its an acronym:
Old
Reworked
And
New
Again.
I am UPCYCLING pre-existing materials, mostly natural fibres from the Manchester department. (vintage lace tablecloths in this post). The bloomer and tanks are inspired by the summer pjama sets my mum always made me. The bloomers are so good, i cant take them off, they make me FEEL so happy. Plus they have a cotton gusset, so you can wear them to bed and everything can breathe. 🧘
The All new again Collection is coming soon.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ā˜˜ļø
I’m finally introducing a textile I’ve been hoarding for a very long time: The Crochet Collection. 🧶
This craft runs deep in my veins. Irish crochet lace was introduced to Australia during the so called ā€œGreat Famineā€ though it was clearly more than just a potato that killed millions. Many of my 6x great-grandmothers arrived as young widows in the 1840s, and it was their skill in Irish crochet lace-making that ensured their survival.
While I’ve inherited that skill, it is incredibly time-consuming. To honor that legacy, I’ve curated a collection of vintage machine-made pieces that I have created.
The Crochet Collection is coming soon. Keep an eye on my stories for the drop date! ✨

Im passionate about peacocks! I have a personal love for these rare textiles, therefore I have to honour them. If I see a pattern or print (like this one has a peacock) I try and keep the design relatively ā€œunharmedā€ so its maintains its original look- This is why I rework them into side tie dresses. So that in 50 years time, it remains in tact enough to be in a textile museum. I had to sacrifice the other peacock to make the skirt. The back is paired back with a rick crimson colour. One of a kind- these are rare finds. (Im secretly hoping it doesn’t sell šŸ˜‚ shhh) suzxx

Bush to Beach? šŸŠEver since i was a little girl, i’ve been making things. Cutting up whatever I could lay my hands on, I’ve been drip stealing my mum’s linen for decades.
Something about a Hills Hoist clothes line—the creak they make... or maybe it’s captured simpler times that, if you experienced them, we wish we could go back to. Even just a little. I think thats why i love the nostalgia of vintage towels.
Introducing the new X side tie top and skirt. With these newbies, there is little to no leftovers. Available on the website.
Top is a size small—Skirt is M-L (I’m an XS and can still wear it oversized). Shorts size small. Measurements are provided on the product page of the website. OOAK sold means sold šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ¤
Thankyou Cathy šŸ’• we grew up together and shes a constant vntg towel discoverer in our home town.
