November Cancer Awareness.
November is primarily recognized for Lung Cancer Awareness Month and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
In addition, November also brings awareness to:
Stomach Cancer
Carcinoid Cancer
Skin Cancer
Movember, also in November, focuses on men’s health issues, including prostate cancer and testicular cancer, as well as mental health and su***de prevention.
Lung Cancer: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide, causing about 1.8 million deaths annually, which is nearly 18% of all cancer deaths.
Pancreatic Cancer: Pancreatic cancer has a global five-year survival rate of around 10%, largely due to late diagnosis.
Stomach Cancer: There are more than 1 million new cases of stomach cancer each year worldwide, making it the fifth most common cancer.
Carcinoid Cancer: Neuroendocrine tumors, which include carcinoid tumors, have a worldwide incidence of 5-6 cases per 100,000 people annually, with the incidence increasing over the last few decades.
Prostate Cancer (Movember): Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men globally, with more than 1.4 million new cases diagnosed every year.
Testicular Cancer (Movember): Testicular cancer is relatively rare, with a global incidence rate of approximately 1 in every 263 men over their lifetime, and it is most commonly diagnosed in younger men.
Skin Cancer Mortality: Worldwide, skin cancer causes about 60,000 deaths each year, with melanoma being responsible for the vast majority of these fatalities.
