Letting out jeans, and a denim jacket, for a client. A job I rarely do due the time consuming nature, and value of jeans.
In this case he wanted a contrasting insert, and I had this denim the right weight leftover from a past project, and the slight stretch was perfect as well.
These jobs go into three figures, taking around 3 hrs each. And, as you can see, the added panel is quite visible.
The more you add to the waist seam, the longer the panel goes down the seam, as it all has to be sewn as straight as possible to sit smoothly.
So most of the time, buying a new pair of jeans and getting the hems taken up is your better bet.
And I have over 50 colours of various shades of thread to match your contrast topstitching perfectly.
