She proudly carries Melanesia within her — a beautiful reflection of the cultures, strength, and heritage that flow through her veins. From Fiji on her father’s side to Zenadth Kes, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and New Caledonia on her mother’s side, she represents a powerful connection to her Melanesian roots.

The Australian Commonwealth Government officially recognised the distinct cultural group in 1994 and the significant contributions Australian South Sea Islander Peoples made to the economic, cultural and social development of Queensland.

We’re proud to acknowledge and celebrate this significant day with our employees and community. Join us in reflecting on their rich history, strength, and culture that continues to inspire our region.

This week Australia's Jetstar operated an all Indigenous First Nations crew flight from Sydney to Uluru (Ayers Rock Airport). From the flight deck to the cabin, every crew member onboard was a proud First Nations Australian.

It was a special moment for our airline and an opportunity to recognise the contribution First Nations people make across our business every day.

The experience will extend beyond the flight itself. While in Uluru, the crew will spend time on Country and connect with trainees from the National Indigenous Training Academy, sharing their personal stories, career journeys and insights into working in aviation. Those conversations have the power to spark ambition and help young people see pathways they may not have previously considered.

Seeing First Nations Australians in every role across aviation shows the next generation what's possible for them and helps build an industry that reflects the communities we fly to every day.

To every crew member involved, thank you. Thank you for the pride, professionalism and generosity you brought to this experience. You are outstanding ambassadors for Jetstar and role models for future generations.
