Plastic-Free July
DAY 24 - When you are looking for scrubbers and scourers, avoid the plastic ones and look for natural fibres such as sisal, jute, loofah and coconut. At the end of their usable life they can be composted. At Enviromart we have a large range of cleaning brushes, scourers and body brushes which are all made from natural fibres.

DAY 23 - Beeswax wraps are a great way to avoid using plastic cling wrap. They are made from a piece of cotton fabric & brushed with a blend of beeswax, pine resin and jojoba or coconut oil. They can be used to wrap a block of cheese or a sandwich or to cover a plate of bowl. Just hand-wash them and they will last for years while being 100% compostable. wrap

DAY 22 When plastic singlet bags were banned, shops started giving out larger thicker bags which use even more plastic, under the pretense that the denser plastic is more recyclable, but little of it is being recycled. There will be stricter standards on these bags from 1st Sept 2022 in Queensland. JUST SAY NO! Take your own bags.
