☀ END OF AN ERA 💔
After a great deal of thought, I've made the decision to close The Sassi Seamstress.
The last 3 years have been, it feels like, non-stop drama:-
🤛 18 months of being harassed, stalked and bullied by the council.
✋ Broke my wrist
👰 An ENTITLED bride took me to court over a dress she was STOCKED with.
🧛♀️ Staff tried to cut my grass and throw me in the deep end with a wedding dress and patterns at the 11th hour
🧟♀️ Fellow shop owners abused me over an email I sent.
💥 Shop got broken into
👩⚖️ The final straw was my staff member handing me a 5-page document about her wages that shook me up like a snow globe. ☃
🌀 And the endless day in day out of running your own business.
You’d think that I would have nerves of steel by now, but no..
So after a life-changing weekend in ceremony, I decided I’m DONE!🙅♂️
This business has had a life of its own; it was happening whether I liked it or not. So I have been juggling, running, trying to tame it, grow it, work out how I don’t have to work so hard for 10 years. (7 years full time)
I’ve sacrificed A LOT to help other people prepare for some of the biggest moments of their lives, so now it is time for me to prepare myself for something bigger and better than the Sassi Seamstress could provide me.
What’s that❓❓ Dunno…Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
I've had the privilege of meeting thousands of people over that time, from all walks of life. I’ve learned so much about what goes on the Sunshine Coast.
(So much random s**t happens on the Coast, you have no idea)
I have vicariously been to hundreds of weddings, cruises, holidays, parties and all sorts of occasions, which has been a pleasure to share those moments with everyone.
I’ve gained friends and genuinely got to contribute something to the world, by listening and learning and making people feel heard in an insane-in-the-brain world.
But the biggest gift has been…. I feel like I have mastered my soul craft.
YEAH‼️ I know….I have been sewing for an eternity (quite literally); you’d think I’d have it in the bag by now. But no… It’s been years of low confidence, self-worth issues and trying to work out how to monetise my talent.
So, now I have done that and now it is time for me to move on and create The Sassi Seamstress 3.0 from a soul level.
Thank you 🙏to EVERYONE who has been part of the Sassi Seamstress journey.
🙏Every customer who trusted me,
🙏every person who recommended me to a friend,
🙏every kind review, every encouraging message,
🙏all the secret goss and
🙏every smile shared in the studio.
😄 It’s all been fun!
Your support has meant more than you'll ever know. 🙏
Although this chapter is coming to an end, I'm excited for what's ahead. Taking care of my health will be the first thing on the agenda, and a fashion shoot that is waaay overdue. 📸📸
Of course I'll still be creating (physically, spiritually, mentally IMPOSSIBLE for me to stop) —just in a very different way.
But it’s not all-over red rover, just yet.
I am still busting arse to finish off things for people before close of business on the 28th of August, so if you're in the area or want to drop in to say hi, bye, and share a bev-er-arge, please come on down to the studio, between 3-7pm on Friday the 28th of August, for first and last staff drinks at the Sassi Seamstress.
Aho!!! ... and so it is....
