So when I was working on this collection, I didn’t just want to create a hijab — I wanted to think about the little things that actually make wearing one easier.

Let’s talk about something I wish more consumers knew about fashion 👀

Fibre composition ≠ garment quality.

Just because something says “100% polyester” doesn’t automatically mean it’s cheap, poorly made or going to fall apart. There’s SO much more to consider — yarn quality, fabric construction, finishing, garment construction, stitching, pattern, manufacturing and even how the garment is cared for.

And yes, you should absolutely question brands and know what you’re paying for.

But don’t let social media convince you that one fibre is automatically “good” and another is automatically “bad.”

You’re buying a garment, not just a fibre.🤎

A little more about the girl behind Haya 🤎

Haya started during one of the hardest seasons of my life — after losing my mum and while I was on maternity leave.

What started as a way to keep my mind busy and give myself a sense of purpose slowly became something I never expected it to be.

I started small, learned along the way, made mistakes, experimented, and kept going. And today, I’m building Haya with a much bigger vision. 🤎

Sometimes, the things we start just to get through a difficult season become the very things that give us a new purpose.

And this is only the beginning. ✨

Stop shopping by fibre alone. 🤍
“Natural = good” and “synthetic = bad” is an easy way to look at fashion — but it’s not the whole story.
Before asking “What is this made from?”, ask:
• What am I buying?
• What is it designed to do?
• How often will I wear it?
• How long will it last?
• How is it made?
• Is the price justified by the quality?
A fibre label is information — it shouldn't be the entire verdict.
Sometimes the right choice is natural. Sometimes it’s synthetic. What matters is understanding the garment, its purpose, its construction, its quality and its value to you.
Smart shopping isn't about choosing a “good” fibre.
It’s about choosing the right garment.

EPISODE 5 — GET CURIOUS. 🔍

Just because something is viral doesn’t mean it’s verified.

In fashion, we see bold claims every day:
“Never buy polyester.”
“Bamboo is always better.”
“This fabric is toxic.”
“This is sustainable.”

But how often do we actually stop and ask: Where did this information come from?

This episode isn’t about telling you what to believe. It’s about encouraging you to question, research and think for yourself.

Because an opinion repeated 10,000 times is still an opinion.

Don’t stop at the video. Get curious. 🤎

EPISODE 4 | What Actually Makes a Fabric Good? 🧵

Is a fabric good simply because it’s natural? Or bad because it’s synthetic?

Not necessarily.

What matters is how the fabric performs for its purpose— breathability, durability, comfort, pilling, shape retention and how it handles washing.

The “best” fabric for gym wear may be completely wrong for a hijab or evening dress.

So instead of asking,“What’s the best fabric?”

Ask: “What’s the best fabric for this purpose?”🤍

Can we talk about this without immediately calling brands scammers? 👀

As consumers, we absolutely deserve transparency. Ask questions about fabric, quality, pricing and what you’re actually paying for.

But a fabric label + price tag doesn’t tell the whole story.

There’s design, development, sampling, labour, manufacturing, packaging, shipping and so much more behind a product.

Does that mean every price is justified? No.

But does it mean an entire industry should be labelled as scammers? Also no.

That’s exactly why I started my Fabric Series to help you understand fabrics beyond the viral claims and Instagram opinions.

Ask questions. Do your research. Make informed decisions. 🤎
