All weekend, every weekend, nice wines, good times!

It’s deep winter out there at the moment….which is good stuff if you’re a garden, but if you’re a real person who needs warmth and love and care and wine then you’d better stay in doors!

This week we have welcomed back a late flourish of local pine mushrooms to the menu, sitting perfectly beside light pillows of gnocchi. Sydney rock oysters have hit their absolute peak. Cauliflower gratin is back and ready to tuck you into bed and our carrots are basically x rated. A few off menu specials if you know the secret wink.

Lunches are huge at the moment with a bit more room available both dinner services this week.

LUNCH: Friday to Sunday from 12

DINNER: Friday and Saturday from 5:30

TASTING: Friday to Sunday from 11 till 5

See you on the weekend

The @94.9mainfm Main Game is on Sunday, and kick-ons (pun fully intended) are at The Taproom.

Kick on after the Main Game with party faves , playing Electro party rock of the finest quality - perfect for celebrating a mighty Galah win (or... a Rockatoo win if it comes to that).

There will also be (You Am I) spinning the vinyl to kick start the arvo.

And of course, it is FREE! So head north from Camp and land at the Tappy for the party kick-ons.

Or just come along - witnessing The Main Game is optional (but you really should see it - footy at its finest).

The game is 12-4pm with lots of extra stuff at Camp Reserve and kick-ons shall start at shortly after.

SHEDSHAKER BREWING COMPANY - CASTLEMAINE,VICTORIA.

The site of the former Woollen Mill in Castlemaine which from its opening in 1875 until its closure in 2013 was a major employer in the town has since been reinvigorated and renamed simply as ‘The Mill’ and is today a multi-use venue with many businesses operating. These businesses range from smallgoods,a bakery,an artisan chocolatier,an ice creamery,a cheese factory, vintage furnishings, and health/wellbeing services.
And there’s a brewery on site that was established in 2016 named Shedshaker Brewing Company that is part owned by a member of the iconic Aussie pub rock band Hunters and Collectors,Doug Falconer.
A large ground floor space dominates the taproom, with a smaller area upstairs that can double as a function space.
Another feature is the Italian themed food menu that offers many of the favourite pasta dishes alongside pizza and desserts.
And look up to find full drum sets as part of the lighting which is an ode to Doug’s rocking days.
To the beer, and there’s a dozen taps of the amber refreshment of core and seasonal beers. And I first indulged in a four paddle which included the blood orange sour beer and the Hazy Pale Ale.Then I eased my way to an easy finish with a schooner of the mid strength XPA.
Finally, thanks to Lee behind the bar for the great service. And thanks to Adam the GM and Andrew the brewer for showing yours truly and David the the ‘Engine Room’ where all of the crafty goodness is produced.

Enjoy.Cheers🍺
