Can you get anymore Australian than working in a shearing shed on Australia Day??? !!!! 😊 I think not! The day started at 5am so we saw the sun come up. By smoko time there was a hot sweaty shearer and rouseabout as it was bloody hot! The working dogs also felt the heat and wanted to stay near the fan underneath the wool table. After a long drive home from country NSW we finished the night with an Aussie Parma at the pub. Happy Australia Day everyone.

Well what a way to bring in 2022 for Gone Shearing … than being at our local Chiltern Rodeo over the weekend!!! We sponsored the event and we’re so proud to have our name up on the big screen. Along with sponsoring we helped with the set up of the rodeo which was a huge job for the committee and the event was a fantastic success over the two nights. It was great to see such a huge event in our small town of Chiltern. We are looking forward to a stellar year of shearing and bringing our Gone Shearing clothes and stories to you all. Congratulations to my better half Shane McIntosh for shearing 200 lambs today!!! At the grand age of 52 he is still in the industry and doing a stellar job! Ok… yes I dragged lambs for him for two hours to get there and yes he may not be able to walk tomorrow but that’s normal in his life 😆😆😆😆 Must be the groovy Gone Shearing clothing he wears in the shed. Spent a few days at Bungil Station last week in the Upper Murray. Beautiful super fine merino wool. It was a pleasure working in the old shed which was full of history and character. Thankyou to family , friends and acquaintances that have ordered some of our Gone Shearing gear! We have been very encouraged by the response. What stock we had has been sent and we have ordered what was needed. Thanks to our shearing buddies that have bought stuff at the sheds!!! Travelling salesmen are still alive!! Now for the long wait for the post which is taking a few weeks at the moment 😞 happy weekend everyone 😊

Shane and I are pretty excited to start this small clothing co so we have something to wear in the sheds while we work and also casually after work.
