The shop is open every day except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so whilst I'm only in store on the weekends, you're welcome to visit during our business hours to view my work or purchase from my range of in stock pieces.

Got to spend a bit more time with this beauty over the last week.

About a year and a half ago, I found a very old, very neglected stock saddle about to head to landfill. Instead of losing this piece of history, I found a way to continue the legacy of past Brisbane saddlers, Uhl & Sons.

The finishing touch was the vintage buck stitched lead chain...but unfortunately its original stitching had rotted, hence the visit back to the 'spa', so I could carefully replace the stitching. Now it's ready to continue its new life with its lovely owner!

Did you know I undergo a little battle every time I take apart a saddle? My inner historian cringes at the destruction...the fighter of waste on my other shoulder cries at the thought of the usual fate awaiting this old, unwanted saddle...uselessness, landfill, rot...so I try my best to breathe new life into old memories and make something useful again.

This darling has found its new forever home, ready to carry new memories. The old memories are still there in the quiet details, a subtle asymmetry, scents and textures. Listening to what the past has to tell us, and giving it a voice in the future.

Hello! New month, new hours...here's when and where you can find me in May*.

Firstly, this weekend is the wonderful Artisan Market at The Churn Room in Dayboro. It's the place to be for connecting with your local makers and finding thoughtfully and sustainably made quality wares. It's the perfect opportunity to find that special present for Mother's Day.

Moving on after the market, me and my leatherwork will return to Bohemian De'cor. If you want to catch up with me, this is where I'll be!

Both The Churn Room and Bohemian De’cor are located in the old Butter Factory building -
38 Williams Street, Dayboro.

A quick demo on how I use my A5 journal cover! Please excuse the awkward video angle, quite frankly I prefer wrangling with leather over phones haha.

I'll have these three covers available at this weekend's Artisan Market! All completely made by hand including hand stitched, there are two in classic black, and this beautifully marked brown one - you won't find another exactly like this, it's as individual as the cow it came from.
