ARTIST CALLOUT! If your artwork centres around food, we've got the exhibition for you!

Our next group exhibition - Food Glorious Food - is inspired by Oliver Twist: "Please sir can I have some more?!"

We're seeking 2D and 3D artworks across all mediums and styles, that depict something edible. Feast or famine, banquet or TV dinner. Meals, snacks, ingredients, someone (or something) eating, feeding the dog/cat/fish their favourite treat, or maybe feeding time at the zoo... all would be eligible!

Food is a basic human need that can can also create such joy and memories. The family together at Christmas. Sharing the love of cooking with children. Preparing a loved one's favourite meal... Many of life's happy moments happen when we break bread together. And that's what we want to celebrate with this exhibition.

Our desire is to explore the wonders of food. Glorious Food!

Introducing Georgina Barton, one of the Feature Artists in our Cut & Paste exhibition.

"I am a collage and watercolour artist who lives on Quandamooka Country. My practice explores nature and conservation, particularly threatened species in our local environments. I am interested in how aesthetics and an attentive way of knowing about our local ecosystems might foster a stronger sense of care and responsibility for our world.

What I love best about collage is that I become more conscious of recycling, where every single piece of paper has meaning – even the smallest amount. I also love watercolour and how it is just absorbed by the paper and easily shifts with more water/colour. As I work, I can see the beauty in every single layer, and I enjoy seeing how it all comes together in the end.

This body of work also includes pages from an upcoming children’s picture book about a Rakali and a bushfire. It is a story about belonging, friendship and hope.

Ultimately, my aim is to help viewers take time to look closely, notice detail, texture and colour and maybe even reflect on their own relationship with the natural world."

The delightful details in Georgina's artworks need to be seen in person to be truly appreciated - we love her wonderfully blended combination of watercolour and collage techniques.

Introducing Liz Christiansen, one of the Feature Artists in our Cut & Paste exhibition.

"Liz Christiansen is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Brisbane, Australia. Her creative practice spans collage, painting, surface pattern design, hand lettering and digital design.

With a love of weaving together the unexpected, Liz’s work is a joyful exploration of abstract shapes, feminine energy, and natural and urban environments. She blends graphic composition, visual storytelling and organic elements to create expressive pieces full of energy and heart.

In recent years, Liz returned to making art for herself – rediscovering her creative spark through collage. What began as a way to loosen up creatively has become a central part of her practice.

Shaped by a background in graphic design, branding and typography, Liz’s approach to collage is both intuitive and freeing. It offers a contrast to years spent working in a precise, pixel-perfect digital world – creating space to experiment and embrace imperfection.

A self-proclaimed maximalist and bowerbird, Liz’s style is bold, eclectic and layered –drawing on a love of retro aesthetics and a kaleidoscope of colour, pattern and shape.
Liz’s current practice continues to explore curiosity and visual playfulness across collage and mixed media, creating works that sit somewhere between abstraction and organic pattern."

Don’t miss the chance to see Liz's work in person - her use of shapes, layers, and bold colours makes her is truly amazing.
