The Sew Good Company

The Sew Good Company We make clothing to match your values. Limited run, ethical + Handmade. Clothing with a story behind every stitch! The garment industry has failed Cambodia.

Cambodia is a developing country, still recovering from the effects of genocide and war and decades of conflict and political instability. Countries like Cambodia are often the targets of
exploitative businesses. Sweatshop garment factories are rife in Cambodia, producing clothing for some of the world’s biggest brands but they are not paying their fair share. Cambodia has a large involvement in o

ne of the world’s most profitable industries, but the country has not been allowed to reap the benefits. When a young woman is forced to live in squalor and eat only once a day, while the products she creates sell for $200 a piece in the stores elsewhere, something has gone seriously wrong. We believe we can help make things fairer for everyone. There is a better way to do business. We believe we can play a part in creating a better world through the ethical employment
practices we have in place. Our philosophy of ethical trade goes beyond just paying a few extra
dollars for products. Higher wages are only just the beginning. We believe that in order to create
an ethical place to work we need to provide a clean, safe and friendly working environment,
health care for all of our staff and their families, maternity leave, bonus and overtime allowances
and more! It starts with you. Your decision to choose ethical products from Sew Good is your power to stop exploitation in
the fashion industry. We can no longer stand by and watch while poor countries like Cambodia
fall further and further behind because some company was more interested in profits than
people. We all have a responsibility to the world to understand where the products we consume
are coming from and who they might be affecting. Every garment has a story which story will you choose?

The Sew Good Company and our Family are so very proud and honoured to have helped bring a Blue Tree to life right here in our community. The meaning behind the Blue Tree Project is something that truly touches our heart, it’s a gentle reminder to check in, to talk, and to let our people know that they are never alone.
Every time we see it, we’re reminded of the strength that comes from community and the importance of starting those simple but life-changing conversations

As small business owners ourselves, the recent loss of another local business owner our special family Friend Gordon Muir ( Gordy to his friends ) to mental health has deeply affected us.
This beautiful tree is a reminder of how important it is to look out for one another, to reach out, to listen, and to keep those conversations going, even when they’re hard.’

A huge thank you to an Amazing organisation “ Call Your Mates Hepburn “ for the incredible work they do actually it’s not work it’s all heart each of those beautiful members wear their hearts on their sleeves and it was an absolute pleasure to see first hand the way they go about making these amazing landmarks happen. The Cooper Family and The Sew Good Company feels so grateful to have played a small part in something that means so much. 💙

The Sew Good Company is HIRING!!

Seeking a 'store-y teller' and In Store Sales Assistant.
The Sew Good Company is expanding our team and are seeking very special sparkly people to join our team on both a part-time and/or full-time basis.

This is your opportunity to be part of a leading social enterprise and to learn all about how we do social change.

At Sew Good we know our product is awesome. It’s ethical, it’s colourful, it’s inclusive and it’s fun! But more than sell clothes we are looking for someone who gets the reason why we are selling clothes and wants to share the story behind our garments.

Meet The Sew Good Company:
We are a locally founded social enterprise and have been a part of the Macedon Ranges and Hepburn community and business community for over twenty years.
Our company provides women in rural Cambodia with fair, safe, family friendly employment. We work with women to promote their rights and significance within the workplace with the aim to promote women as the leaders, change makers and role models that they are within their community and family.

While in Cambodia working with our partner foundation The Cambodian Kids Foundation (CKF), we saw and learned first hand the impacts of unfair and unsafe working conditions on the lives of Cambodian women.

About you:
If you share our passion for ethical employment and slow fashion and want to be part of our story and making a positive difference to the lives of women and their families in Cambodia then we want to hear from YOU!

About the Role:
With two stores located in Dayelsford, we currently have both Full-Time and Part-Time roles available with flexibility across set work days.
Weekends are our busiest days and working on some weekend days is expected.

If you are interested in applying, please email your availability, best time to contact you and one short paragraph on why you want to work with Sew Good to:

We are growing our team!!

Seeking a 'store-y teller' and In Store Sales Assistant.

The Sew Good Company is expanding our team and are seeking very special sparkly people to join our team on both a part-time and/or full-time basis.

This is not your standard retail job!

While in Cambodia working with our partner foundation The Cambodian Kids Foundation (CKF), we saw and learned first hand the impacts of unfair and unsafe working conditions on the lives of Cambodian women.

Through our retail stores in Australia, we saw an opportunity to provide a safe and positive workplace for the women who live in Soksan. We started small, stocking hand-made sock monkeys and returning the sales profits to the woman in Soksan.

We never imagined we would grow to be what we are today - an award winning, successful, thriving ethical fashion label.

But most importantly, we are a team of women with the skills, the drive, the creativity and the product that sees proud women support proud women.

About you:
If you share our passion for ethical employment and slow fashion and want to be part of our story and making a positive difference to the lives of women and their families in Cambodia then we want to hear from YOU!

With two stores located in Dayelsford, we currently have both Full-Time and Part-Time roles available with flexibility across set work days.

Weekends are our busiest days and working on some weekend days is expected.

You will predominately work in-store, however, as we are an expanding company, there is a lot of room to grow, particularly in creative roles such as social media marketing.
