An old biker jacket that is pulling at the seams and requires some patching. Half the battle is trying to find an inconspicuous way to mend the jacket. This was a perfect example of how we can mend it without it being overpowering.

Another week and another wonderful project completed. Pattern dresses are so wonderful to wear and come with their own difficulty in altering. Often customers are afraid we won’t be able to retain the details of the garment.
For this dress, we shortened the busiest section and retained the stripes at the end of the dress for both the body and the arms. It turned out amazing!!!

One of our newest piece is ready to be collected.
Our customer came in with this amazing piece with large tears in both underarms. Because the fabric of this dress is delicate, some were in threads when it come to us.
Thankfully, we had some cutoffs from another Camilla piece that matched this dress very well. So we patched the tears and gave it a new life.

Just as a note, we always offer you to keep the cuttings with anything you bring in. But if you choose not to take them, you might find these wonderful cuttings giving another piece like this a new life.

Did you find where we made the alteration? This was as hard one so you’ll have to look closely at the wrist of the sleeve. About 10cm above the bottom edge of the sleeve, we’ve shortened approx a couple of cm.
Often for delicate pieces such as these, we work closely with our customer to make sure we retain their favourite feature, whilst preserving the spirit of the piece.

As a tailoring shop, we always have a surplus of fabric in our shop, usually from when we create mock pieces for our clients.
Where possible, we always keep the cut offs to create masks like these. These face masks you see are all created from the cut off, discarded fabrics that are originally destined for the trash and give them a new purpose.

Here’s a little challenge for the weekend, can you see where this gorgeous jacket was altered?
The biggest challenge for us as alteration tailor is to preserve the spirit of the piece. What it means for special pieces like this one here is we have to find creative solutions to a seemingly a simple alteration.

For accepted pants brought in to be shortened or taken up during lockdown, it’ll only be a crazy price of $10 per pair!! Yep, $10. We…along with the rest of the world are going bonkers.

- Not part of the special are pants with sequins, diamantes, embroidery, fringe, special cuffs or hems

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your support during this difficult time! May has successfully recovered from her eye surgery and is now back at her shop.
