How was your Saturday? Sunday is feeling - SORE!

Pressure cleaning and painting the entryway for OPEN DAY : next Saturday the 5th at 10am.
AND cleaning the window from the last glue sh*te was a horrific!

Today will be an afternoon of sorting clothing into opening weekend stock to go out and polishing leather goodies!

With the past 2 days weather it's feeling like winter is over.
BUT we will always have a selection of jackets for the visitors to Tassie who get cold!

SHOP IS LOOKING AMAZING!!
We will post a selection of before and after pics this week.

NOTE* orange pickets will remain until we replace the fence!

WHAT AN EPIC START TO OUR WEEK!
Will tomorrow bring our DA approval?
Bit of a long post sorry!!

HHH had Mike Gaffney and Mark Wild in the hub with us earlier this week to discuss the end of greyhound racing.

🐶Mike got to meet foster greyhound Jessie and have a pat : another foster fail coming up!
💬Mark got to have an intimate discussion with Mike around what DHOT sees each time a greyhound is surrendered.
👭Mike got to speak to some volunteers and locals in the community who support the end of Greyhound racing.

🐾If you care about Greyhounds being treated like your dog at home, please reach out to Mike and provide your feedback on email.

Visit DHOT to learn more about their efforts supporting the greyhounds surrendered to them.
Ultimately the more people that speak up for the dogs, the better the odds are of the bill being passed. A good bet if there is one!

🤣A few funny moments along with several serious ones about the bill passing the LC : which creates a structured pathway and phase out plan which supports the industry participants and the gorgeous dogs currently bred into it.
Without it the dogs and hoomans will both miss out on financial support come 2029.

♻️ Keep a spare box in your car for empty cans and bottles.

Today is International Dog Day. 🐾

So, here’s to dogs.

To letting them sleep inside, somewhere soft and warm.

To spending long afternoons letting them sniff, wander and explore the world around them.

To giving them patience when they’re learning, comfort when they’re frightened, kindness when they need it most, and an extra pat (always).

To making room for them in our homes, our plans and our lives.

To recognising that they are not here simply as our pets - they are individuals with their own needs, personalities and stories.

And here’s to every dog still waiting for safety, warmth and a family of their own.

Today - and every day - let’s give dogs the lives they deserve.
