The last time I had coloured dreads was when I had my shop, and I loved them. Needed a freshen up and a boost in myself, so I went for it today! I feel ten years younger!

Want to own a piece of Australian textile designer history? I can’t bear to cut into this piece and am offering it for sale to a vintage fabric collector.
This is an authentic Noel Lyons hand screeprinted fabric piece from his famous Carrington collection. Designed and printed between the 1970’s and 1980’s. Pattern is spring green Lady Carringtons Drive, a rare design from the Carrington collection.
Verification from Noel Lyons Signature Prints (see pic of email) states this is a design which survived a fire in the 1980’s and would have been printed prior to the modern manufacturer they currently use.
This piece measures 124cm wide and 120cm long. Selvedges intact. Original cut from roll only. Likely a sample piece as is labeled.
Has been previously stored so a faint musty smell however I have stored it in an airtight fashion for the past five years. Never washed or ironed thus seen in present condition.
An opportunity to own a design by a true Australian icon. Pieces in such excellent condition are rare, as is the verification from the collection curator of past authentic designs.
$150, plus shipping. Postage includes insurance.

Do you see others upcycling and feel the urge to go for it? Are you inspired by the creations of others but feel like you couldn’t meet some kind of standard? Are you stopped by the fear you’ll be judged for copying or trying to compete? Here’s what I’d like to say to you. There’s enough room for everyone.
If you’ve limited yourself or shied away because you feared being criticized for not being totally original or for mimicking another’s passion, remember, it’s a big world for artists and artisans out there. And there’s room for everyone.
Now, I’ve been through a lot in my creative journey. I’ve begun in many new ventures, be it writing books and songs, making art, sewing and running businesses fearing the opinions of others. And I’ve been accused of all kinds of things like copying and competing. And it bloody well hurt. It shut me down. In fact, I still have major creative blocks in myself due to accusations by others. And I know those people felt hurt and angry ’d stepped into their creative territory. But somewhere there I’d realised that there was room for everyone. Everyone who creates will have a different audience, different people who love their work. When I had a shop, two other lovely ladies who also Upcycled came on board and presented their work there. I was proud to showcase their creations because I knew what I made wasn’t for everyone. And creatively, there was room for us al.
You may start making a piece inspired by something you’ve seen. But if you let yourself run with that inspiration, what you do will surprise you. You’ll find YOUR flow. Your passion will be unleashed. And others will feel and see that in everything you do. There’s enough creative room for everyone.
If what I make sparks something in you, go for it! I’ll be there to encourage and support you. I’ll share my experience with you. I’ll cheer you on. Because I know there’s enough room for everyone ❤️💜❤️💜
