LAST OF AN ERA
This saddle is the last saddle this maker made (VICTORY SADDLES)
Belonging to a relative of the maker who had it brought to me with the intention to restore.
I used hand made thread (as original) even removing and re stitching any modern thread.
Re lined it with mustard surge, cleaned the saddle and blended any tree sap and wasp nest remnants.

A bit of a rebuild/refresh on an old kids saddle, these types of saddles are well worth the purchase and well worth the repairs due to the fact that they are made with the same care and attention as an adult saddle of the same era.
They are not throw away saddles

A customer came in and asked if it was possible to fix his tree unfortunately the tree he had was a foam filled tree this means the tree is a write off. However I stated a stronger tree could be adapted to fit the leather, given the rest of the saddle was rather well made, to add he did not want such large knee pads. In order to cut the knee pads down and glass over the foam, the foam would need to have a particular type of resin that I don't have. What I will do is take a cast off the top instead and cast half way up the knee pad and add in the extra width on the bars. Finished photos will explain more, keep watch

I would like to thank all my customers for their understanding, I have been left with no choice but to stop work to fight fire many times over the past few weeks and has delayed progress significantly. It has rained today and given us a few days reprieve with hope and luck it potentially stops more outbreaks. I will be back into works catch up tomorrow a few more long days and I will have caught it up... thank you all again for your patience
