After 15 Magical Years – A Heartfelt Goodbye from The Highland Trading Co.
Today, we close the doors to The Highland Trading Co. for the final time. After more than 15 years of laughter, stories, incense smoke, and handmade treasures, it’s time to say thank you – properly and from the heart.
To the little hands in faraway villages who carved and wove the trinkets we proudly sold… to the local artisans whose passion poured into every stitch, bead, and brushstroke… thank you. You gave us beauty to share.
To our past employees – you helped breathe life into this shop and shape it into what it became: not just a store, but a sanctuary. We are forever grateful.
To our beloved customers – whether you dropped in once or were part of the furniture – you were everything. Hearing stories from young adults who said they bought their first stone here, or those who simply stopped in for a chat and a breather, reminded us that this little shop meant more than just business. It was a place for reflection, discovery, conversation… and connection.
Week by week, lives were touched – either by a gift given or a story shared. And more often than not, our lives were changed just as much.
This shop saw people through marriages, graduations, births, funerals, and awakenings. It clothed people in life’s most sacred moments and whispered encouragement to those just finding their voice. It became a symbol of hope, curiosity, and soulful expression.
Yes, some didn’t understand us. And that’s okay – they were never meant to. They were not of our tribe.
But we beat our drum. We danced our dance. And we held space for the dreamers, the seekers, the misfits, and the magic-makers.
To the other small businesses out there – we salute you. Keep your flame lit. Blessings to all the earth-happy creatures still wandering and wondering.
