Colour shaped through earth, time, and tradition.

Ajrakh hand block printing is deeply connected to the natural world, created using rich natural dye extracts, minerals, tannins, and generations of inherited knowledge. Through layers of printing, dyeing, washing, and drying, the cloth slowly develops depth, character, and story.

At The Anjelms Project, we’re continually drawn to the way Ajrakh honours both craft and planet - working with natural materials and slower processes that celebrate intention over excess.

Every mark carries the presence of the hands behind it, transforming cloth into something far more meaningful than surface pattern alone.

From plant-based dye extracts to hand-carved wooden blocks, Ajrakh is a living tradition woven with culture, care, and connection.

There’s something deeply human about hand block printing.
The slight variations, the touch of the maker, the feeling that every piece has been created with care rather than produced for speed.

Our collaboration with master Ajrakh artisan brings this living tradition into garments designed to be worn, loved, and lived in. Each print carries warmth, individuality, and connection - a reminder that clothing can hold story, culture, and the presence of the hands behind it.

Created using natural dyes, carved wooden blocks, and time-honoured techniques, Ajrakh reflects a slower relationship with fashion and the planet. One rooted in intention, respect for natural materials, and processes that work in rhythm with the earth rather than against it.

At The Anjelms Project, we believe conscious clothing begins with connection - to people, to craft, and to the environments that sustain both. These pieces are an invitation to value the handmade, honour traditional knowledge, and choose garments created with care over excess.

Craft that leaves space for both people and planet.

A statement in craft and colour ✨

Our Tank Tie Top from the Tides of Memory collection is hand block printed in traditional Ajrakh by master artisan, bringing together generations of craftsmanship with a contemporary silhouette designed to be worn with ease.

Created using carved wooden blocks and natural dyes derived from plants and minerals, every layer of print carries the rhythm, precision, and care of the hands behind it. Ajrakh is more than surface pattern, it is a living textile tradition deeply connected to culture, community, and the earth.

Bold yet effortless, this piece is designed to stand out while honouring the process and people woven into its making. A meeting point between heritage craft, thoughtful design, and conscious creation.

From the maker’s hands to your wardrobe - a story carried through cloth.

Our collaboration with master Ajrakh artisan is grounded in shared values, storytelling, and deep respect for the hands behind every textile.

From plants to pigment, from carved wooden blocks to cloth, each piece carries an intimate connection between people, process, and the natural world. Working with natural dyes and traditional hand block printing techniques, Ajrakh reflects a slower and more considered way of creating, one that honours both craft heritage and the planet.

Working alongside Sufiyan allows us to create garments that honour the history of Ajrakh while bringing these living traditions into contemporary pieces designed to be worn and lived in today. Every layer of fabric holds generations of knowledge, patience, and artistry embedded within it.

Spending time together gave us a deeper appreciation for the cultural significance and care held within these textiles. More than collaboration, it is an ongoing exchange of learning, creativity, and connection that continues to shape the way we design, create, and tell stories through cloth.

A reminder that what we wear can reconnect us - to the maker, to the earth, and to the traditions woven into every piece.

‘Meet the hands behind your piece.’

At The Anjelms Project, every garment begins with people, story, and craft. Our time spent with master Ajrakh artisan reminded us that these textiles are not simply made, they are carried through generations of knowledge, patience, and human touch.

Through our ongoing collaboration with Sufiyan, we continue to learn from the depth and intention behind traditional Ajrakh hand block printing. Every layer of cloth passes through careful hands: washed, dyed, printed, dried, and printed again with each stage adding character and meaning to the final piece.

What makes Ajrakh so powerful to us is not only the beauty of the textile, but the presence of the maker within it. The carved wooden blocks, the natural dyes, the rhythm of hand printing, every mark holds the time, precision, and care of the artisan behind it.

The Anjelms Project exists to honour these collaborations and create garments that keep traditional craftsmanship alive within a contemporary context. When you wear these pieces, you carry the hands, stories, and shared learning behind them.

More than fabric. More than pattern. A living tradition, made by hand.
