🌟 A Reflective Moment at Bodkins Bootery 🌟

Yesterday marked a bittersweet milestone as we officially handed over the keys to the real estate agency, closing the chapter on an incredible era at Bodkins Bootery, located at 72 High Street, Fremantle. We’re proud to have been the longest-standing shoe store in Fremantle, and while this closure is a final farewell for now, we hold hope for a new beginning in a smaller location once things settle down.

We know many of you have questions, so here’s an update:

👟 Stock Availability: Yes, we still have stock! However, it’s currently packed away and not easily accessible for specific requests, so please bear with us.

👨‍🔧 Shoe Repairs: For all your shoe repair needs, we recommend Danny's Shoe Repairs in Claremont—an excellent choice!

📜 Memorabilia Sales: We may hold an auction for our memorabilia in the coming months. Please stay tuned as we work through the logistics.

A heartfelt thank you to Fox Home and Office Removalists Perth for their incredible support during our move. We couldn’t have accomplished packing up the entire shop in just four weeks without them!

It feels surreal to see the premises vacant, but I revel in the pride of what my father, Robert Bodkin, created. The shop was a labour of love, adorned with historical shelving and an ambiance that resonated with our community.

I reflect on how many people know and cherish the legacy of Bodkins Bootery—everyone from Robert (Dedicated owner) and Nick (our amazing manager) to Soi (our skilled Shoe Repairer) and Kosta (our talented Bootmaker). A special shout-out to my brother Aleks, who stepped in on weekends, and to all the past employees who have contributed to our story over the last 52 years. You all played a vital role in creating a piece of history!

After over 50 amazing years of serving our beloved community, it’s time for us to say goodbye. Robert Bodkin and his dedicated employee, Nick Tsalikis, are both retiring, and while we’re closing the doors on this chapter, we’re excited to see what the future holds!

We invite you to visit Bodkin's Bootery one last time to grab a piece of our history! Everything in the store is for sale, and the family will consider any offers or expressions of interest made.
