Introducing my 2026 Advent: Cosy Comfort

This advent has been brought about because it honestly feels like we're living in a bizarre timeline. I want to have a simpler, more comforting lifestyle. I want to look at things and be inspired by them, to feel safe and cosy and loved.

This is my love letter to everyone who has followed Fluff and Nonsense for the past 5 years. I made an honest to god collage out of poster boards and a bunch of magazines that I snaffled from markets and online sales. I used old swatches, photographs, greeting cards, stickers, enamel pins, and embroidery to make something that, for me, encapsulates the idea of cosy comfort. I love a comfy chair, a library, a big bed with blankets and cats, potatoes (although sadly, potatoes won't feature in the advent itself), chocolate, knitting and crochet, lots of cuppas, and snuggling up with either the cats, or my favourite human (it's Josh, incase you didn't know).

This is a 12 day advent calendar. For the first time, I'm also offering a *very limited* number of fibre advents as well - so fibre enthusiasts will not miss out. As always, I don't do pre-orders, I will only sell what I have available.

Due to Life being a bit overwhelming this year, I have reduced this year's available number of available yarn advents to 30, and there will be a maximum of 12 fibre advents. They will go live for ordering on my website on October 12th, and I will aim to have them all shipped out by November 6th. More details about prices, inclusions etc will be released later this week.

Anyway, that's all for now, and I hope you all love this idea as much as I do.

As always, I run an advent calendar draw at my Bendigo Stall - anyone who spends over a hundred dollars has the opportunity to enter.

I'm pleased to say that this year's winner is Kellie Hall! Kellie, I'm gonna email you shortly and we will talk details.

Hope everyone is recovering well from the enormity of Bendigo, and is having a good week.

The face of a very tired, comfy, Fluff and Nonsense after three incredible days at Bendigo.

I am very grateful to everyone who came by to say hi, to people who showed me their WIPs and FOs, to everyone who came to the Bendigo Project Meetup. My heart is full.

Today was really special. We got to have the meet up for a photo shoot of The Bendigo Project at The Australian Sheep and Wool Show

I'm really proud of this group. I love that we are able to create some community togetherness. I love that people enjoy our patterns enough to make them! It's humbling, and truthfully, really wonderful. The world needs more net good these days, and I feel like TBP can be counted among it. Truthfully it was a bit emotional.

Thank you Susanna kaartinen , Kath Martin, Vera Marcu, and Shelley Husband Crochet , it's been awesome working with you on this.

Extra thanks to Kath, I was too busy ordering folks around for the photos to remember to take one myself, and she sent me this one to use ๐Ÿ˜…

All set up and ready to go for tomorrow at the The Australian Sheep and Wool Show ! I am so looking forward to seeing you all. I am in the McKinnon Pavilion, over by Gate One. If you are looking for directions to me, go to the woolcraft section, and look for the yarn chicken signs pointing the way ๐Ÿ” ๐Ÿ” (example photo at the end of the carousel).

Rug up for the morning, and wear layers, we are looking for a low of 3ยฐ โ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ but it's going to clear to a lovely 13 (still a bit โ„๏ธ). If it's anything like today, we will get a bit of glorious sunshine too.

It's going to be a wonderful event, I hope you have an awesome time! Come say hi, introduce yourself, and show me your makes! I love seeing what folks have been working on with my yarn.

Hey Everyone!

The Big Event is creeping closer, and I have been *horrendously* lax at social media recently, but I wanted you to know that yes, I will be there and YES, I will have both yarn and fibre for you.

If you're looking for me, follow the yarn chicken signs (trust me, you can't miss them) and the arrows that point to the McKinnon Pavilion. I am in Stall 58.

I'm also really looking forward to seeing a whole bunch of you showing up with your Bendigo Project items! Whether they are finished or not, come celebrate at our meet up on Saturday. We are meeting at 1:45pm in front of the Donut Van to take some photos at 2pm sharp. I know I've loved being a part of this fantastic group for a second year in a row, and I hope you've enjoyed it too.

Can't wait to see you there. xx

Did you see the little sneaky peek I put into my stories yesterday?

I've been lucky enough to snag a micro batch of 8ply King's Grey from Belinda at , and I've transformed it with the magic of overdyeing. Presenting: Nightshade, Figleaf, Purple Sage and Oregano. Designed to coordinate with each other, or to shine on their own, these beautiful skeins won't be available for long.

These skeins are fully traceable from Belinda's farm, to the scourer's, to the combers, to being spun, to being dyed, all within Victoria. The skeins are 200m/100g, and they have just the loveliest texture. They are also registered with the , so you know you are purchasing yarns of the absolute highest quality.

I've only got a few skeins of each colour, and, for the first time, I am offering a special pre-order. Order these today, and I'll parcel them up for you to collect from me at the Bendigo Sheep Show while you're there ๐Ÿ˜€ Also, any orders of this over $100 will be automatically entered into my annual draw for a free advent calendar (this year, I am reducing my number of calendars, and the theme hasn't been announced, but I promise, they are happening!).
