We’ve recently celebrated 10 years at Lilly & Lace! I can’t quite believe where the time has gone. 🤔
This business started just after my third daughter was born and while I was loving being a stay at home mum I also wanted to work and not have too much of a gap in my career, however I wasn’t willing to go back into the office and put the kids in child care. What a dilemma that was! I didn’t know any one else who was an entrepreneur and there actually wasn’t that many online stores around yet, not like it is now.
So after much planning and nights prepping baby headbands and accessories, learning how to make a website and run a business … Lilly and Lace was born out of my love for creativity and events. And I thrived using my business skills (I did actually go to business college!)
The business grew and soon I was posting items to countries I had never heard of, making 800 pieces at a time (I still can’t believe I made them all from scratch) for corporate events, and enjoying each and every custom made flower crown request. At one stage the business was so busy I had to make a new business to separate the baby & kids items from the women’s flower crowns as they were completely different markets.
I am so thankful to my husband for allowing me to blossom as a mum of 4 and business owner. Thank you to all my helpers over the years for those last minute rushes for extra hands. My kids have been amazing at helping with little things like making up boxes, tagging items and sorting flowers. Lastly thank you to all my customers especially those who have returned with photos of their happy faces wearing a Lilly and lace headpiece or back again for their next event or gift idea.
What a great 10 years it’s been and I look forward to continuing with whatever is in store for Lilly and Lace in the future!
