Geranium Op Shop We offer great quality clothing, household goods and hidden treasures! A cheerful & welcoming space for all!

Money raised, supports the Geranium Community Hub, Centacare & Zahra Foundation- people impacted by domestic violence. Geranium Op Shop is located in the old Geranium Primary School building. In 2022, sadly the school closed but the good news is: the Education Department gifted- yes GIFTED the entire school to the Geranium Community Hub. This has enabled me to "put wings on my dream" of running an

op shop. The Op Shop is a safe and cheerful space for locals wanting to connect with each other and also a great little drop in spot for travellers on the Highway. The op shop will help to sustain our great little community here at Geranium. Another exciting development is that there will be a super cool cafe opening next to the op shop so that you can have a cuppa and great food whilst exploring the op shop.

“A weaving loom-kind of day.”

Way back, maybe three years ago, my sister gave me some money to buy a weaving loom .
“You could set it up in the corner of the op shop and weave, when there’s nothing to do..”
This was before the op shop even began, it was when I was dreaming and planning op shop ideas.

When the op shop finally got up and running, it soon became pretty clear that the weaving loom idea wouldn’t get a look in.
A steady flow of people coming in and out.
I’d joke about the weaving loom idea with my sister, there wasn’t going to be any weaving happening in the op shop.

And then today happened!
It was the quietest, still
slow day ever.

I don’t know why it was so quiet but it doesn’t bother me. There are ebbs and flows through our lives. And when you think about waves coming in, the ebb of the tide reveals beautiful hidden things.
Today was an ebb day.
We even got to enjoy Wendy’s scones, jam and cream.
A reflective, creative and gentle day. Time to pause and Be.

Anyhow, it’s good to feel comfortable with an ebb day- or “weaving loom day”.

Remembering with love and fondness, Rosemary. 💜
We have so many great memories and stories of Rosemary, she was such a dynamic and passionate woman who cared deeply for our community.
Rosemary really encouraged me, in my dream of “the Geranium Op Shop”, she was so supportive and positive. Quite often she’d come and have a browse and sit at the kitchen table for a chat and then head to the 1965 Cafe for a coffee.
I’ll miss you Rosemary x

Please make sure clothing is clean, washed & dried and in good condition.
A good rule of thumb is:
“Would I happily give this to a good friend?” 😊
