Happy Mother’s Day to all 💐 I hope your day has been filled with love.

I have been quiet - I am still here and still open for orders but admittedly life has gotten the better of me of late. My 5 year old has been in India for the last two months and I’ve been missing him tremendously. He is due back next week and I’m counting the seconds. I took the opportunity though to overhaul my house and do a bit of spring cleaning so I haven’t sat and sewed properly in quite a while.

I remedied that today though after lunch and did a couple of matching dolman style shirts for my sons. A very belated “may the 4th be with you” 🙏

Getting winter ready for school ❄️
The year is flying by and it will be winter before we know it - if you can call what Gladstone gets winter 😅

I’ve made my son the Ollie Bomber Jacket with a cotton outer, fleece lining and ribbed cuffs/waistband/collar. It’s lovely and warm.
This pattern comes in sizes 1 through to 12 and can be made lined or unlined depending on the choice of fabric. Athletic fleece is great for an unlined version.

There is also an option for a hood instead of the collar if that’s your preference! I’ve made these countless times for my boys over the years and they always love them. They look great in a fun print.

A labour of love for a certain little someone who is turning 5! He is all things bright and beautiful so rainbows suit him well 🌈

Using mostly vinyl was a challenge - my poor machine protested loudly but we got through it and I’m happy with the end result 🎒

I would love to know where you think I should put the motif though! Do you prefer 1 or 2?

I’m still here! 😅 I’m quiet but I’m here! ❤️

Home life has been a bit crazy lately. The extra curricular activities for the kids have kept me busy, I was unwell for quite a few weeks with a persistent stress headache, I’m in the midst
of starting to get organised to go back to work and also spending every second I can with my little one before he heads of to India with his dad for 6 weeks to spend time with that side of his family. He leaves in about 3 weeks and I’m going to miss him so much! 🇮🇳 ✈️

My sewing machine has sat quietly while life does it’s thing but I’m itching to get back to it so message if there’s anything at all I can help with.

Much love ❤️

Quick sewing detour because 💁‍♀️

Owing to the new directive that years 3-6 are preferred to wear masks at school, I had to quickly make my grade 4 boy a few extras so he has enough to last him a full week. I also made him matching ear savers as I know they irritate his ears. Not the prettiest as I was using up scraps from home and was a bit too lazy to colour match my thread to the buttons but they’ll do the job and the odds of him coping with leaving them on are pretty slim anyway 😷

As a side note - That’s probably the closest to politics that you will ever see me get on here. The directive is what it is and Ill play my part and provide him with a mask but ultimately, it will be up to him if he chooses to wear it or not. I can’t control that as I’m not there at school with him.
I’m not loud about my political thoughts and choices. I just quietly do my thing and I don’t judge anyone else. Whether we agree or not - we are all just doing our best and what we think is right In these weird times. Only love here no matter where you stand on the big issues ❤️

It’s been a minute!
I’ve been off on a little break in the beautiful Agnes Water and 1770. I stayed at 1770 Lagoons resort and it was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend! 🏝 ☀️ 🌊 🍻 🍷

It’s back to reality today though and I got stuck into orders and personal sewing. I sewed a mask, updated some older ones to have adjustable elastic, made a pair of pants and finished a patka in one of the school colours for my little boy. I can’t believe hes starting prep in just over two weeks! 😷👖👳🏽‍♀️

For anyone wondering (quoted from Sikhiwiki.org) “A patka is a Sikh head covering which is worn by many Sikh children in preference to its 'bigger brother' the Turban”. My darling boy is turning 5 in April and has never had his hair cut so a patka is a great way to keep his beautiful long curls neat and tidy. I hope the kids at school embrace him and his Indian heritage. It is beautiful and special - just like he is and I’m so lucky to be his mummy👳🏽‍♀️❤️

Starting the year off with a stack of new masks for the immediate family 😷

My parents and my sister and brother in law prefer more stylish and quiet patterns while me and my boys love all things loud and crazy 😂

I can absolutely see my little one stealing my mermaid one as he’s obsessed with Ariel from the little mermaid and I’ll likely also lose my Dobby mask to my eldest but I might get a few wears out of them first if I’m lucky 🍀

These are such a big improvement on the original masks I made when covid first started. I’ve made the elastic adjustable now, added nose wires to some of them and changed the shape of the mask. It’s made such a difference to the fit and comfort of them.

Housesitting for my parents at the moment but that hasn’t stopped me sewing 😆

Im busy today having a play on my mums computerised Pfaff that she inherited from my grandmother. My own Pfaff was passed to me by my mum when she received this one and I adore it.

I’m making myself yet another Roseclair dress for an event on Sunday. This is my favourite pattern for myself. I’ve changed it up a bit with different sleeve lengths and skirt lengths but it always looks nice because it’s been customised to my size. As a 🍐 pear shape I’m a lot bigger on the bottom then the top so I’m often having to overcompensate for my hips and the top half ends up entirely too big. This is why I LOVE to sew. I get a beautiful dress that fits me and suits me in a fabric I love ❤️
