Thursday night, SS26 by Carol D’Silva walked the runway at Brisbane Fashion Festival ✨
And I still can’t quite believe I managed to create a collection at all.
Balancing a full-time career as a Product Manager with motherhood has meant creating in the hours around everything else — late nights, weekends and whatever small pockets of time I could find.
Somehow, piece by piece, it became fourteen looks.
Watching the first look step onto the runway was one of those rare moments when I could finally stop, look at what had been created, and think… I actually did it.
SS26 brings together so much of what I love about design — contemporary silhouettes, intricate lace, embroidery and handwork, and the beauty that comes from taking the time to make something by hand.
To have it all come to life in Brisbane, during the 21st year of Brisbane Fashion Festival, made the moment even more special.
A heartfelt thank you to Lindsay Bennett, Festival Director; Bryce Williams, Administration Director; Kimberly Gardner, Styling Director; Bernadette Bagley, Production Manager; Lulu Gardner, Styling Manager — and the incredible teams across production, backstage, styling, photography, PR, hair, makeup, lighting, sound, set and video who made the night possible.
And to my family, and everyone who encouraged me, supported me and made space for me to keep creating amongst everything else — thank you. 🤍
