QCA students are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to be selected to develop artwork proposals for a new Digital Artwork at Level 31, 80 Ann St, Brisbane.
Independent Arts Management (IAM) are currently working with Mirvac to commission public artwork at 80 Ann St, Brisbane. This new building will include a Rooftop Canopy Digital Screen on Level 31 which will be a highly visible digital artwork opportunity with citywide viewing perspectives.
Students may submit a response to the EOI either singly or as part of a cross-discipline collaboration. Students proficient in the same discipline should seek collaborations with other disciplines, if desired. All EOI student responses will be considered and evaluated in accordance with the constraints and selection criteria outlined in the Artwork Brief (see below)
Deadline for EOI submissions: Friday 26th March 2021
e: [email protected]
After the close of EOI submissions, up to eight students will be selected to form two working groups in order to develop two concept design proposals for submission to the selection panel. Dr Simon Degroot will work with these student groups to facilitate collaboration and assist students to prepare high quality submissions. Each student working group will receive a concept design fee of $2000 +GST ($500 +GST per student).
This project is intended to provide a significant professional development opportunity for QCA students in fostering submissions and concept design proposals from a range of artistic disciplines such as fine art, photography, film, new media and animation. Along with the two student working group submissions, IAM will also invite two professional artist submissions for consideration by the panel. All four (two professional, two student) concept design proposals will then be evaluated in accordance with the evaluation criteria outlined in the Artist Brief.
The selected concept proposals will then proceed to production. For the successful artists, any additional requirements for the project completion will be defined upon commencement of this next phase. The artwork budget for this project is $100,000.
