WIP: Church St, Newcastle Linocut.

I’m slowly putting together some linocut artworks and hope to have a body of work to share soon. This is a creative divergence from my previous textile and wallpaper designs/products, but I a hope that yhey might complement them in some way too. I am looking forward to see where it all goes.

I’ve probably overworked this already but enjoying the journey anyways; ☺️

Side fact: funnily enough I took a photo of this street a couple of years ago when visiting, I was just struck by the row of terraces all beautifully restored, framed by the norfolk pines and sitting atop Newcastle city with a fresh salty sea air breeze. It was not until recently re-reading Margaret Olley’s biography: “Far from an ordinary life” that I discovered that she fell in love with this part of Newcastle too, painting the same street, and promptly buying up one terrace house after another as she made herself a very astute property portfolio! This fact must have past me by the first time I read the memoir, but maybe something stayed in my subconscious;) Nicely weird, huh?!

The first slide is a giclee print : Grevillea/ Duckegg blue and the second is linoblock print in charcoal of one of Goulburn’s stunning residences - Miranda, designed by EC Manfred.
I am planning to have a selection of art prints, including these available to purchase in the near future✨

Tony Sheffield Photography and I are exhibiting this weekend and next as part of the Southern Highlands Arts Trail. Tony with art maps & photographic prints and canvases; myself with a limited edition of Linoblock and giclee art prints. I am lucky enough to share his photographic studio for the event! There is a great lineup of studios this year, & the weather is great, so hope to see you!

It’s been a while in between posts on here, 😬and I will say something about that when it’s clear in my mind..

But for the meantime I just want to do a little shoutout about a local Art event myself and my partner will be participating in shortly.

The just over a week away- over 2 weekends : 9th &10th and the 16th &17th november, 2024 . I will be sharing Tony’s studio with him to exhibit a small range of fine art prints using Lino block and giclee printing methods. Artworks will feature Australian native flora & fauna as well as historic local buildings and landmarks. Tony will be exhibiting his limited editions and art maps. All work will be for sale.

The studio is number on the arts trail map is 31. 42 Kings Rd, Moss Vale, nsw

I always enjoy sending out samples, and this one is no exception- one of my favourite patterns in the Rockpool collection; ‘Reflections Afternoon’-the colour palette recalling lazing hazy afternoons by the beach in summer, the tide at its lowest..🧡🤎🤍. Seen here in the linen cotton substrate. Also available in upholstery weight Belgian linen.

I’ve recently taken a break from Instagram, Ive decided I only really want to post when I feel I have something interesting for my followers to share or that I want to share. Keeping the communication organic. Things have changed and shifted for this little business, and I’m hoping soon I can share a little bit more on what I’ve been working on this year. ☺️

Revisiting the Secret River range; resampled now on a beautiful matt wallpaper from , which we have already used for the Rockpool collection 🙌

The nature of digital print means that from time to time substrates change/become unavailable and we all just have to pivot & go with it. This often, and usually means resamplung and recolouring! But so far everyone loves this matt wallpaper, so that’s a plus!

Samples of Secret River designs on the new wallpaper should be available online shortly, and are already with our interior stockists.
All orders from the Secret River collection from now on will be printed on the new substrate. Let us know if you have any queries or concerns!
